JLMI Toy Drive 2015
Merry Christmas from your friends at JLMI!JLMI proudly supported the Hopewell/Prince George Cham-ber Toy Drive for the Christmas 2015 season. Donations consisted of 92 pieces comprised of toys, clothing, and gift cards. The collection included items for everyone from babies to teenagers. Our JLMI family reached deep in their hearts again this year to help support this program for Fort Lee Service Member families. These families sometimes have little support other than each other and often spend holidays away from their loved ones. Pictured above (L-R): Seated-Louise Reavis, Patrice Hill, Steve Guthrow, & Mark Cabrera. Standing: LaToshia Weatherspoon, Debi Girvin, Tom Edwards (Senior Account Manager with Leidos), G. We trust that everyone took the time to enjoy the holiday seasons in your own special ways and spent time with your loved ones. Reflecting on 2015 reveals that it has indeed been an interesting, exhilarating year filled with surprises and challenges. However, by surmounting and conquering all obstacles that were placed in our path, JLMI enjoyed the added benefits of becoming a more skilled, talented, professional and flexible organization.
One of the constant challenges of any organization is a healthy, physically fit, vital workforce, especially the Leadership. Although I did not yield to the “stability ball” phase here at Corporate, I have taken on the “Stand-Up Desk” challenge and have been using it for about a month now and so far, so good (and about to win the bet that I wouldn’t last for 30 days). There are differing thoughts on the pros and cons of the desk, but we will see if it is just a passing phase or if the desired wellness advantages are real. There are a couple of us here at Corporate using the desk and we will provide an update next quarter if “Go/No Go” on the desk benefits for healthier living.
Remember……….CELEBRATE LIFE LAVERN

Introducing “SHE” SHE is an organization created to establish a network of Christian women (ages 25-45) for the purpose of building sisterhood and addressing the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of women in our targeted age group. Our approach is practical and authentic, because that is who "SHE" is. This past November, ladies gathered at the Renaissance Hotel in Charlotte, NC for the first annual SHE Conference. Women were represented from North and South Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Maryland, New Jersey, Alabama and Nassau, Bahamas. The weekend was filled with networking and fellowship, regrouping and reaffirming, fun and relaxation.
The conference started with ZUMBA each morning to address the physical body and to ener-gize the ladies for the day’s events. The SHE'QUE Café was our opening ceremony. Attendees displayed their talents through spoken words, poetry, music and song. There were various workshops offered to help answer the questions of so many young women, including an all male, exclusive panel who responded to this millennial group, giving it straight and from a man’s point of view.
On Saturday night, the ladies came out in the pajama pants and SHE Shirts, donated by JLMI, for the ultimate ladies night-in. The Ladies were treated to facials, manicures and massages, as we worked on our service project, “SHE Cares”. SHE Cares was the decorating and packing of shoeboxes, packed for a local women's shelter with feminine products and other basic personal care items. A delegation from SHE presented the SHE Care Boxes to the local Salvation Army on Sunday morning. SHE was and is a success! Our t-shirts easily identify us. Our mission and need to succeed drive us! Thank you JLMI.

JLMI Gives Back
JLMI was a sponsor of The Hopewell Kiwanis Wine Tasting Festival held at the Beacon Theatre in Hopewell, Virginia
again this year. A drawing was held and winner’s of tickets went to Debi Girvin, Noel Gay, and Ebony Parks.
This event benefits community youth and is a great chance to
stock up for Thanksgiving dinner or pick up some great Christmas gifts! This year’s vineyards included Byrd Cellars, Elk Island Winery,
James River Cellars, Sans Soucy Vineyards, Skippers Creek Vineyard, and Weston Farm Vineyard & Winery.
These are some of the students using the computers donated by JLMI to their school….The Prince of Peace Christian Academy in Greensboro, North Carolina. Principal, Mrs. Sylvia Wilson, was grateful for the donation.

JLMI Challenge
The Corporate JLMI team will be a proud participant in the 2016 Ukrops Monument Avenue 10k again this year. With the New Year comes new resolutions and a high percentage of us make some sort of resolution each year. Of that percentage, fitness and health rank among the top goals. With that being said, one in three stop trying
by the end of January. We want to encourage and challenge each and every one of you to get up and get going! The Monument Avenue 10k will take place on April 9th, 2016 in Richmond, Virginia. If you and a friend or family member are interested in joining us, please contact our Team Captain, Steve Guthrow at extension 122, or Co-Captain, Janet Castrinos at extension 114. This is a great opportunity to get together and enjoy the health benefits at the same time. As an added bonus, the weather forecast at this time does not appear to be as cold as it was last year! We will have participants for all waves (walkers and runners), so come on out and get your fitness on!!

It was out with the old and in with the new! The corporate office breakroom got a recent makeover when our dinosaur snack machines were retired and
replaced with a new combo vending machine.
Pictured to the left, Debi Girvin, HR Director, tests out the selections to make sure our staff has an adequate supply

Around The Office
The 2015 NFL Season Challenge at the JLMI Corporate office has come to a close. The winning
calculations have been validated by Game Commissioners, Nashika Broddy & Steve Guthrow.
The ceremonial cup was awarded to none other than Reggie Mason, JLMI VP of Services.
Way To Go Reggie!
Reggie Mason shows off his trophy “Fred”
Newsflash! Missing Trophy Found Safe!
Competition was fierce during the NFL Challenge. “Fred”, the coveted trophy was bestowed upon the winner, Reggie Mason, in the weekly staff
meeting following the tabulation of scores. Reggie and Fred modestly thanked all the participants for their interest, but knew all along that they belonged together. Fred happily took his rightful place in the VP’s office only to turn up MIA within hours! After launching a full investigation and offering chips with soda for his ransom, Fred was finally returned to his
happy home in Reggie’s office. Fred’s disappearance sharpened our Sherlock Holmes’ skills and got lots of good laughs all around.
