Acoustic Emission
Acoustic emission (AE) is generally defined as the random elastic energy released from a source in a material under stress. Stress is applied to a monitored object in the form of temperature, torque, pressure, bending, etc. Deficient areas in the object can generate detectable bursts of energy in quantities proportional to the size of the deficiency and the applied stress.
Acoustic emission examinations are routinely used to improve object safety and reliability. AE roll exams are quick, cost effective, and volumetric.

Surface & Leak Repair
JLM has perfected a low cost method for repair of surface imperfections.
No need to plug porosity
Imperfections/damage quickly repaired (approx. one-eighththe time required by the drilling and plugging technique.)
Small repaired areas can be hand dressed without grinding

OTR Profiling
JLM’s OTR is used to measure the actual crown of your roll while your machine is operating by collecting position data at a rate of 60,000 readings per second from the surface of the cylinder. This data is used to create two and three dimensional maps of your roll surface, which can easily be compared to the most recent grind profile or the optimum theoretical crown.

Roll Covers Audits
The AU technology consists of sending low frequency acoustic pulses at a predetermined angle of incidence into a material under inspection. These acoustic pulses travel through the material and are reflected by the different interfaces inside the sample. If a discontinuity (delamination, debond etc.) is present inside the material, the reflected acoustic energy changes, revealing the presence of the discontinuity.
A key feature is, our high-speed ability to store the "raw" numerical data for every acquired point in the c-scan image.
Once a C-Scan is generated, associated, scaled color B-Scans or 3-D (three dimensional) images can be quickly displayed. Adjustable vertical or horizontal cross hairs allow corresponding vertical or horizontal B-Scan sectional slices to be presented.
The 3-D imaging mode features a "topographical" view of the scanned material volume enhanced by perspective visual compensation (geometric) and hidden line format.

Laser Alignment
Precise shaft alignment pays. Well aligned couplings reduce bearing and seal damage, minimize energy loss, and reduce production down time.
Our system allows minimal and continuous shaft rotation and is unaffected by coupling backlash.
