When you first arrive into the UK we will organise an airport transfer for you with a trustworthy local taxi company who will take you directly to your host family. We highly recommend that you arrive into either Humberside Airport or Manchester Airport (not Heathrow) as they are closer to college.

You will then start a one-week enrolment programme to allow you get to know the college before the UK students return from the summer break. You will have time to make course choices, meet teaching staff and international students, organise bank accounts and register with the police.

How big is Scunthorpe? Only 70,000 people live in Scunthorpe making it a relatively small town. It is most famous for its steel works – one of the most modern, clean and efficient steel producing centres in Europe but has several parks and green areas within the town.

What is there to do in the town? In Scunthorpe there is a museum, theatre, leisure centre with swimming pool, bowling alleys, library, snooker hall, sports fields, golf courses and cinema.

What is there to see in the area? Scunthorpe is surrounded by small villages. Nearby you can visit the Humber Bridge, Normanby Hall country house and the historic city of Lincoln.
