MOOre - Dennler Engagt,meIIf AnnOunced— ac';I.XI ..I'-"""-''1'I >j>'S ]] P(jsses(it Age 105 in the lVomen's Fellowship. Rev. Me]- ford Knight, a former pastor, made his hvme with hfrs. Wilson for many years. She was the mother of two sons, Frank H. Wilson, who owned and operated Wilson's Drug Store until his death in 1967, an<i Lloyd, who farms east of Genesee. Other sur- vivors are four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Farewell to Happ]a It is difficult to accept the fact that hfrs. lVijsnn is gone, even though she had lived in the nursing home for the past 16 yes, those whn knew her and had felt the strength of her character and charm just somehow seemed to assume that "Happie is just over tn Moscow for a while and will be back soon." At least that was the case for myself, for I had been her neighbor for several years. She was really a remarkable lady and, to use a much overused term, to know her was to love her. She was well past Sp when she built the house close to town and she took as much pride and interest in it as a young girL She worked in the )md and her small flower garden each day the weather and seasons would permit and even v'ould attempt to mow her yard if someone wasn't there to take over the job. She fell and broke her hip the first time while moving garden hose while watering her )aum. A, lot of the time she'd get upset udth you if you tried to do too much for her or if someone told her "maybe youd'etter not do that, Mrs .WiI- snn." A. flood of memories come back when you think of 1<frs. Wilson... I could never bring m)~)f to call her "Happie"... I remember the old 1935 P))m>c>uth coupe she drove until about 1955 when her eyesight became too poor. The town breathed a sigh of relief when she gave up driving; she respected very few stop signs and absolutely no curbs. You just sa>v her coming and reacted accordingly. She was always keenly interested in what went on in both the town and the veorld and she'd ofi.en stop me on my way home to talk about eve?y- thing from the high school ball teccn to politics. That u~ another remark- able trait of her's, she never lived in the past as so many older people dp, she a]ups hsd ideas about the pres- ent and plans for the future. ! But maybe the remembrance of Mrs. Wi]snn that uM ahm)w remain u5th me and u~ typical of v'hat kind of person she really v~, concerned a big, worthless stray dog U>at nunc around the house one day. Animals often seem to have this instinctive ability to discover ~, kincuy peo- ple, and the dng recognized this qual- ity in hfrs. (Vusnn, <vho prompUy I named him "Hobo" and cared and loved him as she did all of God' creatures. In turn, this anunal reacted to Happie Wilson as even-one else did, he loved and respected her. Old '"Hobo" is gone and now so is hffw. XV]leon. But the love those remain- ing have for her and her men>nry iiri]l be uith us for a long, long time. ]] P(jsses(it Age 105in the lVomen's Fellowship. Rev. Me]-ford Knight, a former pastor, madehis hvme with hfrs. Wilson for manyyears.

She was the mother of two sons,Frank H. Wilson, who owned andoperated Wilson's Drug Store untilhis death in 1967, an<i Lloyd, whofarms east of Genesee. Other sur-vivors are four grandchildren andfive great-grandchildren.

A Farewell to Happ]aIt is difficult to accept the fact

that hfrs. lVijsnn is gone, even thoughshe had lived in the nursing home forthe past 16 yes, those whn knewher and had felt the strength of hercharacter and charm just somehowseemed to assume that "Happie isjust over tn Moscow for a while andwill be back soon." At least thatwas the case for myself, for I hadbeen her neighbor for several years.

She was really a remarkable ladyand, to use a much overused term,to know her was to love her. She waswell past Sp when she built the houseclose to town and she took as muchpride and interest in it as a younggirL She worked in the )md and hersmall flower garden each day theweather and seasons would permitand even v'ould attempt to mow heryard if someone wasn't there to takeover the job. She fell and broke herhip the first time while movinggarden hose while watering her )aum.A, lot of the time she'd get upset udthyou if you tried to do too much forher or if someone told her "maybeyoud'etter not do that, Mrs .WiI-snn."

A. flood of memories come backwhen you think of 1<frs. Wilson... Icould never bring m)~)f to call her"Happie"... I remember the old1935 P))m>c>uth coupe she drove untilabout 1955 when her eyesight becametoo poor. The town breathed a sighof relief when she gave up driving;she respected very few stop signs andabsolutely no curbs. You just sa>v hercoming and reacted accordingly.

She was always keenly interestedin what went on in both the town andthe veorld and she'd ofi.en stop me onmy way home to talk about eve?y-thing from the high school ball teccnto politics. That u~ another remark-able trait of her's, she never lived inthe past as so many older people dp,she a]ups hsd ideas about the pres-ent and plans for the future.

!

But maybe the remembrance ofMrs. Wi]snn that uM ahm)w remainu5th me and u~ typical of v'hat kindof person she really v~, concerneda big, worthless stray dog U>at nuncaround the house one day. Animalsoften seem to have this instinctiveability to discover ~, kincuy peo-ple, and the dng recognized this qual-ity in hfrs. (Vusnn, <vho prompUy

I named him "Hobo" and cared andloved him as she did all of God'creatures. In turn, this anunal reactedto Happie Wilson as even-one else did,he loved and respected her. Old'"Hobo" is gone and now so is hffw.XV]leon. But the love those remain-ing have for her and her men>nryiiri]l be uith us for a long, long time.—Bi]]

Idaho economic Outlook

Brighter Says -Newsletter

The economic outlook for Idaho in1976appear favorable as the businessrecovery initiated in the fourth quar-ter is expected to accelerate threugh-out the year.

This is the highlight of the quar-terly'First Security Newsletter, beingdistributed this week according toJames Hoagland, Jr., manager. Dr.Elroy Nelson, senior vice presidentand economist, is the editor of theletter.

Cash receipts from farm marketingare expected to resume a normalgrowth pattern tin 1976, The lumberindustry should experience a furtherpick up in demand and production, and employment in the constructionand manufacturing industries are alsoexpected to be favorably influencedby improved national business condi-tions.

The Newsletter also predicts posi-tive growth in, real personal incomein 1976.

In a rewiew of 1975 the Newsletterpoints out that while total personalincome in Idaho is estimated at $4.2billion in 1975, there probably wasvery little change in 1975 real income.

The fourth quarter of 1&75 sawgenerally unchanged business pat-terns in Idaho, although some im-provement appeared in the lumber in-dutry and in the overail rate of un-employment.

The Newsletter also renewed theperformance of muious industries in1975:

Apiculture: Cash receipts fromfarm marketing in Idaho totaled$988.5 million for the first ten monthsof 1975, an amount 12.3 per cent be-low the corresponding period a yearago. Receipts from the sale of cropsdecreased nearly 19 per cent, whilelivestock and livestock product re-ceipts rose 2 per cent. Milk produc-tion in the first ten months of 1975declined 2 per cent from the same

~

period a year ago. The average priceof milk sold \o plants in Dec. was33 per cent higher than a year ago.

Lumber: Although production forthe first ten months of the year wasby 8.6 per cent from the same periods year earlier, production in Augut,September and October increased wellabo~e last year.

Construction: Building permit con-strucuon in 46 major cities and un-incorporated areas totaled $275.4

Accidental injury due to a fall whilehandling or working with hay is re-lauvely common on Idaho's farmsand ranches according to ExtensionSafety Speciaust, XVayne Fisher. Al-though reporting is not colnple'ted onthe 1975 Farm Safety Survey, the da-ta to date would indicate Qat 200persons would be expected to be in-

yearly in, the state and, thatmedical expenses w'ould averageabout $300 each for this type of in-cident.

Dangers and the Itkel&ood of afail are high during this period. whilepeople are feeding hay. VIlnter addsto the problem with the individiialhampered by extra clpthing and mostlikely wearing overshoes, He is al-so likely to encounter hales that arefrozen down and unpredictable. Per-haps due to the co1d caution may bedisregarded in the haste:to Completethe task.

'Hay does not provide a stable sur-

miQion for the first eleven months of1975 which represented an increase of9.6 per cent over the correspondingperiod in 1974.

>Dneraisi Although mineral pro-duction in Idaho in 1975, was abovethat of a year earlier, there was con-siderable variation among the majorproducts. Of five major metals allbut lead showed an increase in pro-,duction. Both lead and copper experi-enced a decrease in total value ofproduction.

The Newsletter also commented onother business indicators.

Total employment in Idaho was re-ported at, 343,000, an increase of 1.5per cent over a 1+ar ago.

Retail trade during the period Maythrough September, waa up 8.25 percent.

Loans outstanding at Idaho FederalReserve reporting members banks to-taled $1,557 million in nud-December.This was an increase of $146 million,!Qr 10 per cent above a year ago.
