As part of one familybut not bonded by blood relationswe must demonstrate brotherly
love. We should always be willing to unite with one another in all ways and at all times. We
should never allow pride to be a motivator for not contributing to the outpouring of love, that
was demonstrated through the blood covenant of our Brother. Note: Demonstrate love
genuinely, and not because its convenient for the moment! (John 13:34,35&Galatians 5:13, 14)
So, how do we demonstrate love toward others? We demonstrate love with examples of what
God is. We start by asking God to give us a clean heart and clear motivesno matter whatfor
others to be blessed. We must be representatives of Gods kingdom. We must be walking bill-
boards of love toward others. As believers, the world should be able to look at us and see the
likeness of Christ. Its not enough to say that you love someone, but to go a step farther to actu-ally demonstrate love, is truly in the image of God.
Blessing, and not cursing is a way we demonstrate love to others. How do we bless? We do this
by prayer. We pray for those who cant or wont pray for themselves. Those who are in need of
healing, deliverance, and being set free from the chains of life that bind them. We ask God to
heal them, to walk with them through their circumstances, and teach them His ways;
believing by faith that He will do a mighty work in them and at the same time, do a
work in us. Remember that God is locating your heart in situations regarding others.
Being His children...He shouldnt have to look far. God is looking to see how we are
going to handle the trials when they come our way; hes looking to see if we are going
to be impatient, moody, depressed or any of the other negative things that dont
demonstrate who He is. Think about all the times you had a bad day and just
needed someone to understand; to listen; or the times where you needed not to be
judged... God was there with opens ears and open arms. He never turned His back on
you and HE NEVER WILL. So when we are dealing with individuals in the world, we
must demonstrate the same mercies, because of the grace that the Father has shown
us.
Some thoughts: One day youll be in heaven standing before the throne of God, and
Hell ask you, What did you do to demonstrate love? What are you going to say?
Did you demonstrate love according to His commandment? Did you represent Him?
Did you do what was expected of you? Just some things to think aboutSelah!
Loves in Need...Love TodayPart II will appear in the February 2009 newsletter.
