History

JJ Loughran was established in 1967 and in 2017 celebrated over

50 years in business. Since are creation JJ Loughran has grown

to be one of the UK & Irelands leading suppliers and installers of

industrial electrical and mechanical Motors, Gearboxes and

Industrial Electrical Controls.

Year 2021 Apprentice Electrician Scheme

Year 1 - Week No.1 – Trainee Electrical Engineer (H&S and Equipment)

• H&S Induction & H&S Kit provided to apprentice engineer. o Hard hat & Ear defenders, Work gloves, fall arrest system, Eye

protection, Risk assessment booklets.

• CSR, MEWP, Forklift & Manual Handling Training.

• JJ Loughran Power & Hand Tool Inventory Scheme o Power & hand tools provided by JJ Loughran.

Year 1 - Week No.2 to 52 – Trainee Electrical Engineer

• Typical working week schedule o Start date approximately early July 2021. o 3 days per week on site (Paid at 1st year rate) o 2 days per week at training college (Paid at 1st year rate)

• Works description o Assisting qualified electrical engineers. o Introduction to containment and cable install.

Year 2 - Week No.1 to 52 – Trainee Electrical Engineer

• Typical working week schedule o Start date approximately early July 2022. o 4 days per week on site (Paid at 2nd year rate) o 1 days per week at training college (Paid at 2nd year rate)

• Works description o Assisting qualified electrical engineers. o Containment and cable install. o Introduction to glanding and terminating power and control cabling. o Introduction to control panel building.

Year 3 - Week No.1 to 52 – Trainee Electrical Engineer

• Typical Working week schedule o Start date approximately early July 2023. o 5 days per week on site (Paid at 3rd year rate) o 1 day per month at training college (Paid at 3rd year rate)

• Works description o Assisting qualified electrical engineers. o Containment and cable install.

o Glanding and terminating power and control cabling. o Control panel building. o Introduction to power and control Fault Finding. o Introduction to Electric motor fault finding & motor overhaul. o Introduction to Electric motor Laser Alignment.

Year 4 - Week No.1 to 52 – Trainee Electrical Engineer

• Typical Working week schedule o Start date approximately early July 2024. o 5 days per week on site (Paid at 4th year rate) o 1 day per month at training college (Paid at 4th year rate)

• Works description o Assisting qualified electrical engineers. o Containment and cable install. o Glanding and terminating power and control cabling. o Control panel building. o Power and control Fault Finding. o Electric motor fault finding & motor overhaul. o Electric motor Laser Alignment. o Introduction to Inspection & Testing.

Year 4 – JJ Loughran Trainee Electrical Engineer Completion Payment

• On successful completion of 4th year apprenticeship and passing all examinations and AM2 practical exam, payment of £3,850.00 to Trainee turned Electrical Engineer.

• Equivalent to £3,000.00 after Tax. Works Location – 1st to 4th Year

• Working in mainly N.Ireland.

• Opportunities to work in; o Rep. Ireland o Mainland England, Scotland & Wales

Overtime rates payable

• Monday to Friday = Time + ½

• Saturday = Time + ½

• Sunday = Time * 2

JJ Loughran offer a diverse range of industrial electrical engineering services with the expertise and backup to deliver these services on time, on budget and to the agreed specification. Our onsite electrical engineering designers, project engineers and installation teams, allow us to offer onsite industrial electrical installations from minor works and maintenance to complete design, installation and commissioning of process and manufacturing plants, industrial new builds and power generation systems. JJ Loughran are proficient and have vast experience in the following key areas. Mains Power HV & LV

• Mains Power – Liaising with your electricity supplier either as a new or increased mains power supply to assess the best design and purchase for your business. JJ Loughran have unrivaled experience in the design, supply and installation of MV Switchgear & Transformers and LV Mains power boards and PFC.

• Onsite Power Generation – As the core power source for your business or as an ancillary back up supply, JJ Loughran can size, supply and commission onsite power generation systems; we can assess the best way to integrate these alternative power sources into your electricity supply, with various changeover and synchronized methods available. We work closely with industry leaders such as Caterpillar, Cummins and FG Wilson to deliver open and acoustic generator sets and associated equipment.

Containment

• All cable tray and ladder containment for onsite industrial installations is galvanized or stainless steel as standard,

• Installed and fitted by experienced fitters and welders,

• All materials are sourced from leading manufactures such as Electrix, Legrand and Unitrunk,

• With our in-house engineering facility for guillotining, folding, punching and painting specialist bracketing that cannot be catered for off the shelf, all requirements and complexity can be easily catered for.

Cabling, General Power & Lighting

• All cabling HV, LV, Screened and Data Cabling soured from only leading manufactures such as Batt, AEI, Doncaster, Draka, Eland and Excel,

• HV, LV, Data and Fibre Optic Cable glanding capabilities and expertise,

• Working as standard with switch gear manufactures such as Schneider/Square D, Scame, Clipsal and Gewiss.

• Low energy PL and LED lighting design, upgrades, new installations and feasibility studies.

CCTV, Fire and Certification

• CCTV installations – 24 hour remote monitoring using fixed camera and movable domes; Co Axial, Data and Fibre cabling installations installed as standard,

• Fire – Smoke, Heat and Gas detection systems to all relevant industry standards to include conventional, Zoned Sav wire, Addressable and Sampling systems,

• Certification – For all electrical, data and fire installations all required inspecting, testing and certification of equipment and installations to relevant BS Standards.

JJ Loughran offer a maintenance and repair facility for rotational electrics to cater for repairs and refurbishment of electric motors, generators, pumps and machines 24/7, for safe and Hazardous Areas.

All rotating machines need preventative maintenance and repairs and JJ Loughran can assist in structured maintenance to avoid costly downtime or carry out immediate repairs after failure to get your system or process operational as soon as possible. From are purpose built electric motor repair facility, rotating electric motors and machines can be dismantled, diagnosed, repaired, reassembled and tested. From full rewind and overhauls to bearing changes, housing & frame reclamations, general repairs and full/part component replacement and integration, all repair aspects are catered for

JJ Loughran offer a maintenance and repair service for Gearbox‘s and Transmissions for all types of industries and applications. Our purpose built gearbox repair facility along with our range of Hydraulic Presses, 10 Ton capacity Overhead Crane’s and associated tooling, allows us to service both large and small units. Gearboxes and transmissions need preventative maintenance and repairs and JJ Loughran can assist in structured maintenance or immediate repairs after failure to get your system or process operational with a minimum of down time. From oil or worm wheel replacement and bearing changes to full dismantle, component replacement, reclamation and reassembly, JJ Loughran can repair and overhaul to 400mm shaft and bore size with ease. We are proficient with Bevel Helical, Helical Inline, Parallel Shaft, Worm and Planetary designs from manufactures to include and not limited to,
