Hey there ! First, the Coronavirus. The stores are opening, hair salons are opening, but so far the Lounge at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel is not set to open. Somehow I can’t picture that we will be allowed to dance immediately as we have always done in the past, so we need to be patient and wait until phase 2, or 3 or whichever it is that opens up the Lounge and we can get back together. In the meantime I continue to watch our fellow clubs and see what they are doing. I have not heard about the Louisville dance that is set for July 4 th , but I wonder. I get emails from the Hilton Head Shag Club (HHICSC), and they have a Re-Up party scheduled for June 10 th , with their Summer Breeze party scheduled for July 18 th . In the next paragraph they state that they are prepared to reschedule, so we’ll see how this all turns out. In the meantime I continue to keep in touch with the hotel – from the Food and Beverage Manager, the Banquet Manager, and even George, so as soon as I know …. …. … you will know. In the meantime I continue with my weekly emails, and our Music City Bop Club is alive and well – just on hold for the moment. Kathy and recently held our own Saturday night dance, with wine and music – and a little dancing, singing to “Don’t Worry Baby”. I know that Sharie and Bruce Goodman were dancing at home for their wedding anniversary – maybe we can all do that in the spirit of our club. How is our contest coming along ? Remember from my last month’s newsletter article when I asked for your favorite dance songs ? Give me the top five songs you have always liked to dance to. You know, the ones that call you out onto the dance floor – the ones you sing to – that song where you stop talking to Donna Becker Mitchell and look around for your dance partner. YOU know that song ! You already know the Fuller’s top five dance songs … … what are yours ? Let me know by responding to this email and I will let you all know the list of songs before we meet again. Maybe WE can develop the play list for our first dance night back at Maxwell’s Lounge in the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel ! Let’s see … .. 3 hours of songs at roughly 4 minutes each song is 45 songs. Now you see how hard it can be for Sue and Janie to put together a Saturday night list of songs. Next you need to mix it up – so many fast dances, then a few slow songs, mixed in with some line dances, a couple of cha-cha’s and two or three waltz’s – and don’t forget West Coast dances and shag dances. So far I have close to 50% of the songs that we need – after discarding the duplicates. I need some West Coast, shag, and line dance songs from you. Don’t be shy ! Two weeks ago Michal Ann and I held a Monthly Membership Meeting – just for the officiers and DJ’s. Not too much new to discuss, but we did talk about how we want to start up our first dance when we come back. Of course we’ll have a multi birthday party (but just one cake ). I asked about a big “blow-out party”, but we all agreed to start it our slow and see how everything develops. You have noticed that we closed the post office box in Goodlettsville. We did this to eliminate collecting the information only to send it on to Sandy Webster.
