Fron the V.P. Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing

Greetings to All Pacers for the month of June. Is it HOT enough for ya? It really is time to hit the pool this time of year. Last one in is a rotten egg!

Last month, we had a review of OBLITERATOR by PSYGNOSIS. I'm pleased to say that I SOLVED the game, and boy, was it ever TOUGH! But, for this month we have another EXCELLENT educational program called MAVIS BEACON TEACHES TYPING!

MAVIS BEACON TEACHES TYPING is available for ALL ATARI Computers (both ST and 8-bit). It is a true Artificial Intelligence

Software Program that comes from the same people who brought us CHESSMASTER 2890, THE SOFTWARE TOOLWORKS. This great typino/teaching program was voted BEST SOFTWARE PROGRAM for 1987; quite an honor, i ndeed.

MAVIS BEACON TEACHES TYPING is the program for everyone, child and adult

alike. It has stunning 2D and 3D graphics, "Lifelike" guide-hands that types WITH you to show you the perfect technique of typing, help windows available at every stage of your lessons, and it even has an arcade game included called "Road-Racer". (I must admit, I really enjoyed THAT part)I

This is truly the BEST typing program that I've ever seen, and believe me I've seen plenty of them. Th i,s program can let you MAKE your own CUSTOMIZED practice lessons, and you can even type in "Word Processor" or "Typewriter" mode, AND "Standard" or "Dvorak" mode. You even get a list of companies that will sell you an overlay or NEW keyboard (Dvorak) for your ST if you desire. (8-bit owners: All that you would need would be an overlay; we have a P.D. Dvorak conversion program in our PACE library)! What more can you ask for? As an "added" bonus, you even get a super program called "Resume Writer"; and it's beautifully done. Also included, you get a book on the history of typing; from the very beginning to the future.

My final conclusion is that MAVIS BEACON TEACHES TYPING is indeed the BEST typing program that is available for ATARI Computers to date. It has excellent graphics and sound, a very interesting format, and it's alot of fun and very easy to use. And the pr i ce is r i gh t MAVIS BEACON TEACHES TYPING can be had for under *30 mail order (both computers). I rate it a 5 STAR (****#) meaning that it's the best. Pick t ime !
