Slide 2 JIG Bulletin 58 - January 2013 C&L Sales & Services P/L Slide 3 JIG Bulletin 58 - Requirements 1.Filter monitors shall never be operated above a differential pressure of 22 psi 2.A dP switch shall be installed to activate if a high dP (22 psi) is encountered 3.A dP switch shall be connected in parallel with the dP gauge and linked to the deadman and fuelling control system 4.The dP switch shall be set to 22 psi and designed to automatically stop the fuelling operation The 10 commandments Slide 4 5.The system shall not be capable of being reset by the fuelling operator 6.The system shall be installed so that the deadman override does not reset and reactivate the system. 7.The system shall also be fitted with a mechanism (eg. a key operated device) to reset the dP switch after installing new filter elements or following dP gauge free movement tests The 10 commandments JIG Bulletin 58 - Requirements Slide 5 8.All dP switches shall meet the hazardous area classification for the installed location 9.Fuel-wetted parts shall be stainless steel with elastomers manufactured from Buna N, Viton or as recommended by the manufacturer The 10 commandments JIG Bulletin 58 - Requirements Slide 6 10.The function of the dP switch shall be checked to ensure that the fuelling operation would be stopped when a pressure of 22 psi is applied to the dP switch. The 10 commandments JIG Bulletin 58 - Requirements Slide 7 10.The function of the dP switch shall be checked to ensure that the fuelling operation would be stopped when a pressure of 22 psi is applied to the dP switch. This check shall be performed and recorded every six months and can be performed during the dP gauge free movement check. Piston- type differential pressure gauges shall be checked for free movement throughout the full piston travel and visually for correct zeroing. This shall be done every 6 months. (JIG 1, 4.10.3) The 10 commandments JIG Bulletin 58 - Requirements Slide 8 All existing hydrant servicers that have filter monitor vessels shall have a dP switching device installed by December 31st 2013 The 10 commandments + 1 JIG Bulletin 58 - Requirements Slide 9 What to do next C&L offer the best solution Slide 10 CL-A-J58-KIT (dP) Differential Pressure Control System The CL-A-J58-KIT meets or exceeds ALL requirements as outlined above & required by JIG. Slide 11 CL-A-J58-KIT (dP) Differential Pressure Control System Fits any refuelling vehicle that use a deadman system being air or electric Fits all and every refuelling vehicle across the globe. Any manufacturer No changes necessary to existing PLC systems (if fitted) No changes necessary to any other on board logic systems Slide 12 CL-A-J58-KIT (dP) Differential Pressure Control System Full compliance with JIG 1, 4.10.3 which states Piston- type differential pressure gauges shall be checked for free movement throughout the full piston travel and visually for correct zeroing The manufacturers requirement for calibration / checking the dP gauge is to carry out a full piston deflection test Slide 13 Most components in the kit are fitted safe, secure & neatly inside the J-Box. The J-Box must be fitted inside the vehicles cabin Gammon dP gauge shown c/w switch & deflection test button. Switch mounts on right or left side Slide 14 CL-A-J58-KIT (dP) Differential Pressure Control System The J-Box comes complete with wiring diagram and simple installation instructions (supplied on purchase) Slide 15 CL-A-J58-KIT (dP) Differential Pressure Control System CL-A-J58-KIT - Feature List Compact Failsafe in operation Allows the operator to carry out a dP gauge full deflection tests using the supplied test /over-ride button The test/over-ride button Cannot be jammed or used as not intended Repeated depressions (3 times within 30 seconds) disables button for a further 10* minutes Test mode operates for 10 seconds only Slide 16 CL-A-J58-KIT (dP) Differential Pressure Control System LED warning light. Standard fit is on the J-Box but it can be mounted on the operating panel or elsewhere in cab If activated the system goes into lockout mode and can ONLY be reset by use of the supervisors key. This switch is fitted directly to the J-Box (as shown) Lockout mode CANNOT be reset by cycling of the battery master switch. The key must be used. Suitable for air & electric deadman systems. CL-A-J58-KIT - Feature List Slide 17 CL-A-J58-KIT (dP) Differential Pressure Control System Meets of exceeds class 1, division 2 approvals (equal to all existing dP switches, currently fitted) To meet the requirements of Class 1, Zone 2 a barrier is required (optional) and would be fitted within the J-Box All items are clearly labelled. The CL-A-J58-KIT controls air, electric and and also auxiliary deadman systems CL-A-J58-KIT - Feature List Slide 18 CL-A-J58-KIT (dP) Differential Pressure Control System a)Total price is dependant on the make of your dP gauge being Alfons Haar or Gammon b)If your dP Gauge is neither of the above, we suggest changing the dP gauge. *We supply & fit either c)See our spread sheet online at http://www.candl.org/files/Download/dPgaugespreadsheet.pdf CL-A-J58-KIT COSTS - Per Vehicle Considerations Slide 19 CL-A-J58-KIT (dP) Differential Pressure Control System CL-A-J58-KIT COST - Optional Gammon dP Conversion Kit Warning light, fitted outside of cabin Gammon Gauge c/w dP switch and dP test button Air/electric (ex) solenoid.
