Jesus is the wonderful King and Savior!

Jesus and His disciples were getting close to the city of Jerusalem. Jesus sent two disciples to get a young donkey, called a colt, and bring it back to Him.• What did Jesus tell the disciples to say if somebody asked them why they were getting the donkey? (Mark

11:3, Luke 19:31)

• Did the disciples obey Jesus?

• What happened when they found the donkey? Who sat on the donkey?

As Jesus rode the donkey into Jerusalem, a very large multitude came together.• What is a multitude? What did the multitude spread on the road? Were they making a path for Jesus and the

donkey?

• Did the people want to honor Jesus by spreading their clothes and the leafy branches on the road?

The people began praising God and shouted: “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD! Hosanna in the highest!”• Hosanna means “save now.” Did the people want Jesus to save them? (Yes they did, but they wanted Jesus

to save them from the Roman people who were ruling over them.)

• What was Jesus going to save the people from?

When Jesus sent His disciples to get the donkey, they did exactly what Jesus told them to do.• Did the disciples get to be part of something wonderful when they obeyed Jesus?

• Does Jesus ever tell us things that He wants us to do? Will it be a blessing if we obey Jesus?

Many people praised Jesus when He rode into Jerusalem, but just a few days later Jesus would be killed on the cross.• Do you know why Jesus died on the cross? (When Jesus died, He was being punished, but not for His sin

because He is perfect. Jesus took the punishment for people’s sins, for our sins.)

• Jesus is a King AND He’s a Savior. Do you know what “Savior” means? (Someone who saves and rescues

another person from danger.) What does Jesus save us from?

• Jesus is also a King. Kings rule. What does Jesus want to rule over? (He wants to be our King and rule over

our hearts and lives. Jesus is a wonderful King!)

Jesus wants to be your Savior and your King!• We all have sinned and done wrong. We can’t save ourselves! Who can save us from our sin?

• Have you asked Jesus to save you, to forgive you of your sin? Do you want to do that now?

Jesus wants you to know and believe that He loves you, because He does!• Do you want to pray and thank Jesus for loving you and for dying on the cross for you?
