Jesus’ mother said to the servants,

“Whatever He says to you, do it.”

John 2: 5 NKJV

1. We praise thee, Heavenly Father,

For all thy tender care;

Rich tokens of thy mercy

And love are everywhere,

Thou art from everlasting,

And ever shalt endure;

Throughout unending ages

Thy promises are sure.

Leader: Together we are Christ’s

body, but each of us is a

different part of it.

Women: Together we represent

Christ to the world, and in

doing this, each of us has

a particular part to play.

Men: It is by God’s grace that

we are members of this

body. It is His grace that

calls and equips us in our

particular ministry.

Leader: Lord, help us to

encourage and stimulate,

to complement and

support each other today.

Women: Draw us together by the

gifts of service and

ministry you plant in us.

Men: Deliver us from the

temptation of taking each

other for granted or

minimizing any person’s

contribution to the whole

ministry of Your people.

Leader: Keep before us the vision

of wholeness which You

have given us in Your

Son, and make us the

people You want us to be.

All: Through Jesus Christ

our Lord.

Amen.

It must be love

Why would you, the God of greatness,

simply love someone like me?

And how could you, so pure and perfect,

know my faults yet meet my needs?

I’ll never know or understand just

what you see in me,

My mind is amazed to think

Your plan includes me for eternity.

It must be love

It must be love, it must be love,

In spite of who I am

You still came to where I was;

Although my life is torn and scarred,

there’s room for me inside Your heart,

I find no other reason but this one,

it must be love.

It must be love

You keep turning my curses into blessings,

that’s Your love and nothing else.

Forgiving my sin and then forgetting,

that’s Your love and nothing else;

If I could give my ev’rything

it wouldn’t be enough,

For ev’ry good and perfect gift

is more than I deserve, deserve.

It must be love

It must be love, it must be love,

In spite of who I am

You still came to where I was;

Although my life is torn and scarred,

there’s room for me inside Your heart,

I find no other reason but this one,

it must be love.

It must be love.

Jesus’ mother said to the servants,

“Whatever He says to you, do it.”

John 2: 5 NKJV

Luke 1: 46b – 55 (NLT) The Magnificat: Mary’s Song of Praise

46b“Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. 47 How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! 48 For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed. 49 For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me. 50 He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him. 51 His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones. 52 He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble. 53 He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands. 54 He has helped his servant Israel and remembered to be merciful. 55 For he made this promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and his children forever.”

John 2: 1 – 12 (NLT)

The Wedding at Cana

2 The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. 3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” 4 “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” 5 But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons.7 Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, 8 he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions.

John 2: 1 – 12 (NLT)

The Wedding at Cana

9 When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. 10 “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” 11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him. 12 After the wedding he went to Capernaum for a few days with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples.

John 19: 23 – 27 (NLT)

23 When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided his clothes among the four of them. They also took his robe, but it was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom. 24 So they said, “Rather than tearing it apart, let’s throw dice for it.” This fulfilled the Scripture that says, “They divided my garments among themselves and threw dice for my clothing.” So that is what they did. 25 Standing near the cross were Jesus’ mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary (the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Dear woman, here is your son.” 27 And he said to this disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from then on this disciple took her into his home.

Jesus’ mother said to the servants,

“Whatever He says to you, do it.”

‘Conviction’

At the wedding in Cana:

‘Confidence’

At the crucifixion of Jesus:

‘Care’

Mary’s song:

‘Conviction’

‘Conviction’ being convinced of a calling,

having a firm belief in your purpose.

At the wedding in Cana:

‘Confidence’

‘Confidence’ the firm trust we have in people,

being free from apprehension.

The Crucifixion:

“Care”

‘Care’ protecting, providing health and safety

and guarding the ones we love.

2. We praise thy name, Lord Jesus,

Thou art the Christ divine;

No sacrificial offering

Can e'er compare with thine,

Living thy life for others,

Then dying on the tree,

To rise again triumphant

In glorious majesty.

3. We praise thee, Holy Spirit,

Revealer of the truth;

Seal us thine own, we pray thee,

In these glad days of youth.

Equip for joyful service,

Arm us with holy might,

Give victory in temptation

And courage for the fight.

4. We worship and adore thee,

Blest Trinity above;

Our lives we gladly yield thee

As tokens of our love.

Thine own we now restore thee,

Our wills to thee resign;

Accept our grateful offerings

And make us fully thine.
