Church
What does church mean to
you? I will share what
church means to me.
Church is a group of people
who are opening their lives
to the transforming work of
God in Christ. It is people
in mission who are an ex-
ample of beloved communi-
ty that reaches out in the
world with the love of God.
It is imperfect people, peo-
ple who are experiencing
the salvation of God
through God's grace that
empowers faith.
Church is people caring for
one another, encouraging
one another, lifting up one
another. It is people shining
with the light of Jesus Christ
in ways that decrease the
darkness of the world.
I am thankful for many
things that the church means
to me. And for you and oth-
ers in the church.
What does the church mean
to you? What things do you
think of in terms of ways
that God's love dwells in the
church and makes a differ-
ence in and through the
church? What experiences
have you had that have
brought more blessing to
your life?
continued
How have you joined with
Jesus Christ and with the
church to accomplish good
things?
The church throughout the
world is getting ready for a
trip. It is an annual trip that
begins on Ash Wednesday
and is called Lent. Lent is
traditionally a time that peo-
ple give some things up, but
more importantly it is a time
to consider what it means for
us to take up our crosses of
loving sacrifice in the spirit of
Jesus Christ. Let's travel to-
gether with Jesus!

PUPPETS FOR JESUS
On Wednesday, March 8th at 6:00 pm we will have an Easter program presented by the Puppets For Jesus from 1st United Methodist Church in East Peoria. Our FW Friends children and lead-ers will be there, and we invite you to come see the show. They did an excellent show at Christ-mas time for us. Everyone enjoyed it, adults and children.
