K-2 Classroom

Miss Renneberg

Open-ended math questions are a great way to explore number, as they require so much more than students just recalling facts. Sending students off to investigate a particular problem that has more than one possible answer stimulates higher order thinking. Students need to explore, reason and then justify their answers. In K-2 we love a good math investigation. A good question will challenge learners at all levels, from our youngest to our most advanced, and allows me as their teacher to go around and extend their little brains where needed.

Brought to you by Kaye Care

“Learn to play, play to learn”

Welcome to our first newsletter for 2019. January we farewelled our new school starters and welcomed a few younger recruits. "Routine" helps promote responsibility and with this comes confidence. This allows children to know they belong and to feel free to express their feelings and share day to day events with respect and pride .This week we observed Nash address his group time acting out our weather man, giving an update on the days’ weather conditions. Nash carried this out with confidence. We are always focusing on positive play and fostering new friendships. We take care that our precious little people have a safe and happy environment to explore and investigate in. Sensory play is an important aspect of learning this week. The children worked with blocks of ice and shave foam. This created so much fun, they could observe the ice melting as they rubbed their hands through the foam and ice. Have a wonderful week ahead, take care. Kaye Care.

Kaye Care has a vacancy for an under 5 year old on Wednesdays. If you would like to enquire please call Kaye on 6576 4168.
