Pardee Hospital: 2006- June 2007/Front Desk Clerk, Radiology Scheduling

Duties for file room and front desk clerk were basically unchanged from the previous employment. Then promoted to the radiology scheduling where I took request from physicians and patients to schedule radiology procedures/tests. Changes in scheduling include the requirements to obtain insurance information, pre-cert information, complete a compliance checker at time of scheduling. Part of my current duties include assisting in the maintenance and changes to the Scheduling Module in Meditech.

Pardee Hospital: Oct 2007-Oct 2011/Financial Counselor – Customer Service

Duties being a Financial Counselor are helping self-pay patients with accounts and providing discounts on Out Patient Exams. I also screen patients for Medicaid, Disability and other programs. Another part of

my position is checking benefits, obtaining precertification for scheduled procedures, and explaining out of pocket cost to patients. This includes contacting physicians’ offices as well as the patients. I was also the contact person for our Out Patient Psychiatric Consultations as well as all Pain Management visits. I was also given the opportunity to work with our Hematology and Oncology office, pulling their schedules for upcoming weeks and obtain insurance benefit information as well as authorizations. I notify the office of deductibles and copay that will need to be collected from the patients. I counseled our self-pay patients in different programs that may benefit them financially.

Duties of a customer service representative are assisting patients with any questions or needs regarding present accounts, upcoming accounts, and any other business office inquiries. Answering multi-streaming phone lines, as well as walk in questions.

Bon Secours Health Systems: Nov 2011 – Sept 2013/Patient Financial Rep – Insurance Follow up Collector

I started my Bon Secours career as an insurance follow rep with the Bon Secours St Francis Health Systems. I am one of the three New York follow up team members that work claims for $ 0 – 10,000.00. I contact insurance companies for aged high dollar accounts. Cleaning up accounts by fixing denials and missing information on claims, I rebill claims to insurance companies for payment on accounts. I also contact patients when necessary for updated account information and or insurance information. I work with Host computer system Affinity, JDA, Isuite, and Xactimed.

Bon Secours Health Systems: Sep 2013 – Present/Denials Management Representative

I currently work denied high dollar aged accounts for our New York Market. I contact the insurance companies on a daily basis to dispute the denials and try to resolve with appeals or retro authorization if needed. I work closely with physician offices to gather needed information to make cases resolve such matters. I also work out connect care, rev recover, affinity host system and use a multitude of internet based websites. I work with host systems Affinity, JDA, Isuite, Xactimed, Rev Recover, Connect Care, and a multitude of payor websites.
