the goal To spread awareness within college campuses about a variety of health risks including:

Alcoholism Cigarette smoking Safe sex Drug Use Campus Safety

the method

Students are presented with a 6 question quiz

2 attempts are allowed, regardless of answer submitted correct data ispopulated after each question

Answer five out of six questions correctly on either attempt and receive something for free!

design and usability Focused on three desired attributes of the app:

User-friendly interface Appearance of the health facts and statistics Redemption of free incentive

Currently being built for the iPhone Xcode using Objective C

The app is built with versatility and can be ported to many platforms, including:

Android Web-based (Flash)

integration of health data Facts are generated from the warehouse and other reputable sources

Possibility of analytics to return user knowledge data to specific organizations to gauge general public knowledge on campus

Increases the usage of Warehouse data and pioneers the way this data can be utilized and exposed to the general public

creativity and innovation iPhone app that offer incentives for participating in educational health awareness quizzes has not been done before

Entering an untapped market gives us an advantage

Offering the app for free (in addition to offering incentives) maximizes the audience and ultimately, the awareness of these common health risks

The app is personalized for each college campus and will feature the university mascot

potential for impact Because the app is free to download, we will reach a large audience

Higher awareness of these health risks will lead to:

Safer college campuses Lower rates of alcohol poisoning, medication overdoses, etc. Overall increased health of student population

Receive donations from specific organizations with a common cause Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) the truth Alcoholics Anonymous

Cultivate partnerships with local businesses to provide free incentives

the theory Learning style is based on the Hebbian learning theory: associative learning is achieved through repeated and persistent stimulation of the postsynaptic cell

Multiple attempts allow immediate knowledge to convert to long term memory
