Importance of Data in an organizational setup and its correct conversion when migrating to or upgrading a new ERP system cannot be overstated. However, data conversion and migration is a complex task. A lot of factors such as mismatching data formats, non-standard systems, improper mapping of data with existing data, existing bad data of legacy system, etc. need to be considered before data conversion and migration. It involves careful extraction of data from multiple sources, normalizing it and then transforming it.
