The JC1 / 4th Hussard by MARCH LA.B is a tribute to the most infamous cavalrymen of the Napoleonic era. The watch itself salutes their dashing uniforms and fearless reputation immortalized in the film “The Duellists”, by Ridley Scott.
The 4th Hussard regiment took part in several legendary battles of the Napoleonic era such as Austerlitz and Friedland. The Hussards were light cavalrymen; the eyes, ears and egos of Napoleon’s army. Tactically, they were used as scouts armed with pistols and swords. They had their own
code of honor - one of reckless courage that bordered on a death wish. The Hussards liked to consider themselves superior horsemen and swordsmen above everyone else.
Contemporary observers regard the historical French uniforms with unreserved astonishment. During that time period, the uniform they wore consisted of an elaborate red pelisse with gold braids and blue breeches. Adorned with gold braiding and several rows of multiple buttons, the Hussards were
the pride of the army. Their regimental colors and insignia have been reproduced on the watch to carry on the original brash of the Hussard spirit.
