Laura Theodore is a 2015 TASTE award-winning, recognized public television personality, vegan chef, radio host, cookbook author, and award-winning recording artist. Laura is the on-camera host of the highly successful, five season, 65-episode, Jazzy Vegetarian cooking series on public television, available in over 90% of USHH. She hosts the popular podcast radio show, Jazzy Vegetarian Radio. Ms. Theodore is author of three cookbooks including: Laura Theodore's Vegan-Ease, Jazzy Vegetarian Classics, and Jazzy Vegetarian.

Laura has been a featured guest on The Talk on CBS, Insider/Entertainment Tonight (HBO Red Carpet), News 4-NBC, Fox News 8, The Better Show and the WCBS Health & Wellbeing Report. Laura writes for Mother Earth Living, and she has been featured in the New York Times, New York Daily News, VegNews, Family Circle, Readers Digest, PBS Food, Naked Food, and Healthy Aging, among other highly respected news, food and lifestyle-related journals. On film, Laura is featured in the new feature documentary, Food Choices.

In February 2016, Laura Theodore/Jazzy Vegetarian was winner of a 2015 Taste Award “Best Health and Fitness Program (Food and Diet)” and officially inducted into the Taste Awards Hall of Fame.

MEET LAURA

As a recording artist and songwriter, Laura has recorded six solo CDs, including her Musician Magazine award–winning album, Tonight’s the Night. Her CD release with the late, great Joe Beck, entitled Golden Earrings, was selected to appear on the 52nd Grammy Awards list in the category of Best Jazz Vocal Album. Laura’s 7th solo CD, a contemporary pop record entitled "Organic Love," will be released in conjunction with the premiere of Jazzy Vegetarian, Season Six, putting Laura into an elevated celebrity position, making a sponsorship affiliation successful for the sponsor.

On the acting side of things, Laura has appeared in over sixty plays and musicals, including two years in the Off Broadway hit show Beehive, earning her a coveted “Backstage Bistro Award.” She was honored with the Denver Critics Drama Circle Award as “Best Actress in a Musical” for her starring role as Janis Joplin in the world premiere production of Love, Janis.  As a touring recording artist, Laura has performed throughout the country, performing at numerous major events, such as Night of 100 Stars, Fire and Ice Ball, and American Film Awards.

I have always loved entertaining groups of friends for dinner parties and for the holidays! Thus, many years ago, I began to focus on creating plant-based dishes that would entice folks to visit and dine at my home – even though many of my friends were not vegans, or even vegetarians, themselves. My ambition was to offer outstanding plant-based fare that would please the omnivorous palates of our neighbors, overnight guests, and visiting relatives. As my veggie creations became more and more popular with family and friends, I continued to focus on creating fabulously delicious, vegan versions of classic, traditional American Cuisine. Many people today are selecting vegan alternatives for good reason: •  As the US government and many renowned doctors, hospitals, and cancer treatment centers suggest, a balanced

plant-based diets can fight cancer; reduce the effects of osteoporosis; reduce weight, blood pressure and cholesterol; and keep our bodies younger and fitter!

•  Eating plant-based meals reduces our carbon footprint and has a positive impact on the environment and potentially global warming, as well as usually being cost-effective!

•  According to Environmental Defense Fund, if every American substituted just one meat-based meal per week with a vegetable and grain based meal, the carbon dioxide savings would be the same as taking more than half a million cars off of our roads.
