of special events in what is to be a yearlong observance that will symbolize the 40 years of
excellence to the community. We are humbled by the
hundreds of thousands of listeners who have made this journey with us.

We all know how hectic the hustle and bustle of the holidays can be with the shopping, gift giving, too many parties,
and family and friends stopping by. We invite you to set your dial to Jazz 91.9
and relax and #JazzUp with the perfect soundtrack for the holiday season.
Through the month of December, we are sprinkling our airwaves with many of your favorite recorded
Christmas music selections. On Christmas we will present a special
musical celebration, Stand By Me featuring the Clark Atlanta University Philharmonic Society and, Spelman
and Morehouse Glee Clubs.
On New Year’s Eve, enjoy Toast of the Nation, a broadcast of live Jazz performances from various
venues around the country. The broadcast will include
countdowns to New Year’s in four distinct United States time zones.

Greg McLean, trumpeter, composer and arranger, born in Shreveport, LA, but grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. He received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education (1979) from Georgia State University, Masters of Music (1982) in music composition Florida State University. McLean also studied composition and Jazz at the University of North Texas (1985-86). Greg has performed with a variety of groups both Classical and Jazz and leads his own Greg McLean Jazz Trio/Quartet. He plays with various Jazz bands, variety bands, orchestras and brass groups in the Atlanta area. Currently, Greg is Associate Professor of Music at Georgia Perimeter College where he directs the GPC Jazz Ensemble, directs the Jazz lab band and, teaches courses in music appreciation, Jazz history, composition, music theory and trumpet.
