This course provides the basic knowledge and importance of pharmacology in nursing.By studying this course the students will be aware of mechanism of action, pharmacological actions,adverse effects and therapeutic

effects of drugs along with various drug interactions and apply the theoretical knowledge related to drugs into the clinical area while administering drugs to the patients to facilitate patient healing process.

Course Objectives :

At the end of this course, the students will be able to :

This course of midwifery care two is designed to all undergraduate third year, seventh

level students. General objectives of this course are to develop students’ knowledge and clinical

competencies in the area of healthcare informatics with up-to-date knowledge of computing, the

competence to apply the most recent techniques in the area and the ability to critically evaluate

current research and practice:

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course focuses on selected competencies for designing comprehensive nursing care management of adult clients with complex & unpredictable human responses to specific system alterations. Selected settings are utilized for clinical practice. COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course the students will be able to:

1. Describe and apply the process of developing assessment, nursing diagnosis, objectives, planning,

interventions and expected outcomes.

2. Apply cognitive abilities derived from the nursing & support courses, to the provision of nursing care to

adult individuals with alterations in Digestive& Gastrointestinal, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Hematology systems, and patients with pain, inflammation, shock, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, and cancer.

3. Utilize the nursing process in providing comprehensive nursing care in adult patients with alteration in

Digestive & Gastrointestinal, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Hematology systems, and patients with pain, inflammation, shock, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, and cancer.

Course Description:

1) Description of the course:

A major objective of this course is to develop the student’s clinical competencies in the area of maternity

nursing. The focus will be on the family member during maternity cycle. Opportunities will be provided to the

participants in the observational and practice experience in maternity, newborn and gynecology fields.

2) Course Objectives:

At the end of the course the students should be able to:

1. Describe the anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system 2. Identify the physiology of conception and fatal development

3. Discuss subjective and objective data to be obtained from the pregnant women during a health

history and nursing assessment 4. Describe the nurses responsibilities in relation to various types of associated medical problems during

pregnancy 5. Describe the physiology of labour and clinical feature each stage of labour 6. Differentiate between vacuum extraction and forceps assisted delivery 7. Acquired knowledge about abnormal post partum period

8. Identify the concept and different methods of family planning 9. Perform an assessment of the bio-psychological need of the women during child bearing period 10. Formulate nursing diagnosis for women's and addressing unmet need according to priorities 11. Perform nursing intervention based up on the formulated plans according to women's changing priorities 12. Develop health education plans for women according to individual need and problems

13. Evaluate nursing interventions and pre-established priorities according to reassessment of women's needs

on problems.
