01 SPRING 2012 - “SHELTER” | charcoal on paper | 19’’ x 24’’

rough the use of objects, this is a representational self portrait. e umbrella acts as both keeping light in and darkness out of the home/family, creating a push and pull composition. e high contrast reects the mood of abandonment.

02 SPRING 2012 - RUNWAY INVITATION | adobe illustrator | 6’’ x 6.5’’

is is a mock invitation to the late Alexander McQueen’s runway show that was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. e dark colors and play on words give this invitation a Tim Burton-esque feel. It is also interactive where the invitee pulls down a tab to reveal the time, date and place, in addition to nd the end the eery poetic blurb. is shi also changes the look of the outside layer.

03 FALL 2012 - PEPSODENT PACKAGING | adobe illustrator / photoshop | 2’’ x 8’’ x 1.5”e new pop art-inspired design is kept clean with an intentional restriction on overwhelming variety of color that one would see in works true to the pop art era. Rosie the Riveter and the colors red, white and blue are pertinent to conveying the current war state of America. e goal is not only to increase prot but to also gain the patriotic support for the war.

05 SPRING 2012 - “ASCEND” | paper / duct tape / wire | 2’6’’ x 5‘6’’Collaborative work with Ana Curta (Neuroscience Major). Inspired by Curta’s research, this dress depicts both the pain of a chronic migraine (the black mass) and the hope that a solution or treatment can be found (upper, white bust area and single crane on shoulder). e paper crane was used because of its double form: elegant on an indiviual scale and overwhelmingly spiky in a mass.
