The Western Visayas Local Urban Observatory (WV-LUO)

addresses the urgent need to improve the regional database

of urban knowledge by helping local governments and civil

A facility that allows sharing and generating ideas on-line as

an initial step in building a body of development knowledge in

a faster, cheaper and an innovative way of convening,

connecting and communicating with urban stakeholders.

The watershed area is characterized by deteriorating water quality, landslides, unsustainable catchment management practices, deteriorating ecosystems, low access to water and high poverty levels.

Through the effort to mitigate disaster, investors will be more confident in putting their money in the region. This would more job opportunities for the people. With better access to clean water, women and children will have healthier life.
