Developed overall vision, strategy and goals for an organization of 400+ individuals. For 12 years led a joint food pantry effort with various other community organizations and groups, raising approximately 8,000 pounds of food per year and supporting over 100 families in need each week. Led various fundraising efforts in a community heavily composed of fixed­income retirees, seeing an average increase of approximately 3% across the board year­over­year. Have counseled thousands of individuals and couples on issues ranging from general life issues to crisis intervention and grief counseling. Referred to qualified professionals when concern was beyond my scope. Officiated events with up to a thousand people in attendance. Led summer camp programs for local youth, including at­risk populations. Served as President of a Regional Association of UCC Churches.  

 State of Oklahoma – Oklahoma City, OK              1990­1993  State Agency Counselor 

Managed a caseload of approximately 3,600 to 5,000 person­visits per year, including at­risk and abused children and teens, public school administrators, teachers, and counselors. Served as the rotating director of an onsite Youth Shelter for extreme DHS cases. Served as county Restitution Counselor for minors. Managed approximately 25 crisis intervention calls per year for threatened or attempted suicide. Immediate response situations requiring 911 response, law enforcement, and on­site or ER psychological evaluation. 

 Methodist Hospital ­ Lubbock, TX              1989­1990 

 Chaplain 250 visits/week with patients, staff, and administration. On call, 36­hour shifts for crisis intervention, counseling, and ER duty, sometimes working with up to 12 families at one time dealing with death/grief crisis intervention. Dealt with approximately 1500 deaths in crisis intervention situations. Offered end­of­life counseling to dying AIDS patients. 4 Units/Semesters of CPE, Clinical Pastoral Education and 3 CEUs with Dr. William Glasser, PhD
