Multimode [Emission]

Official test by the worst case, but some exemption.

• Basically emission compliance is confirmed with all modes and official test is carried out by the worst case selection.

• However some operating modes should be exempted, which no frequent use is expected. For example Low and 2nd position of AT.

---An idea of regulation sentence---Emission compliance shall be confirmed with all selectable modes. However if the mode(s) are reasonably expected to use in very limited condition, the mode(s) are exempted with approval of authorities. The recommended situation for such modes should be explained to customer via owners manual.

* Cert. family criteria is separated issue. (Japanese reg. defines that AT & MT is different family.)

Multimode [Fuel Economy with Default mode]

On default mode.• Default mode is expected as frequently selected position.

• As our proposal, [Default mode] of AT with manual shift operation is considered as right side. ()

• According to above proposal, manual shift operation on AT is tested, or not.(*)

• On MT, Normal shift and GSI shift are tested and take average, because both shift should be used frequently.

• Exemption for emission compliance is also applied to fuel economy test.
