WHO CAN COME? Well-qualified senior (Y11-13) Japanese students (Qualificatio

n based on: Japanese ability, school records and behavioural records)

Students who can host our sister school pupils when they come in August, next year.

Most of the students are girls. According to the homestay policy, girls need to stay with female students’ families. (or a male student can host if he has female siblings of around the same age)A police vet will be required for first time host families.

Students who can agree with the school trip policies and code of conduct.

WHERE?First 7 days – Sightseeing

– Tokyo City – Shinjuku, Harajuku, Asakusa, Odaiba

– Nikko – Tosho shrine, waterfall, Edo period samurai village

– (1 night at Japanese traditional inn)

– Tokyo Disneyland

– Kamakura – an old capital town in 13c. Great Buddha statue, Shrines etc.

– Yokohama – The biggest port city near Tokyo

Second Week – Home stay and exchange Our Sister High School Special Programme (about 40 min by train from Tokyo) Students are to attend the high school daily while staying

with host families.

Therefore, students are required to wear school uniform and they need a pair of slippers to wear inside the school.

Nikko - Japanese traditional inn (1 night)

HS homestay (8 nights) This is provided basically free of charge on the unders

tanding that their students will not pay home stay costs on their return visit.

Our students will need to pay for the price of transport to and from school.

HOW MUCH?TOTAL COST: About $3000 (incl. Personal spending money) ($1 = 78 yen) 15 students + 2 teachers NOTE: The estimate has increased due to a recent fall in the NZ$ and the

decision to base the calculation on the minimum number of students.

GENERAL TRAVELLING COSTS Airfare, taxes, Japan Airline Group rate $1581 Travel Insurances - $102 (could be more for 17 days) Relieving Costs - $40 (could be less) Accommodation, transport, meals, admission fees etc.- $700

PERSONAL SPENDING MONEY Lunch money, daily necessities (homestay)-$180 Pocket money (snacks, souvenirs etc. ¥2000 per day for 14 days)- $360

WHERE DO WE START?

1. We need to pay the deposit ($200 each – non refundable) to secure our school trip special airfare within 2 weeks.

2. Please fill out the questionnaire and return it tomorrow so that we can finalise the numbers and proceed with our planning.

3. Then, we will send you a permission slip for you to sign. Please return it with the deposit by 3rd March 2006 (Japan Airline).
