The last couple of years I have announced, and actually thought about and set, my New Years Resolution in this column. According to Wikipedia (the internet is always right, right?) Men achieved their goal 22% more often when they engaged in goal setting (a system where small measurable goals are being set; such as, a pound a week, instead of saying "lose weight"), while women succeeded 10% more when they made their goals public and got support from their friends.
I am going to do both. Make it measurable, and make it public. (I assume your going to support me.) If I have done the math correctly, that means I will have a 43.56% chance of completing it. (put it on the internet!)
So here it is: I am going to visit with 1 elected official a week for the entire year.
Whether it is School, City, County, State or Federal, I will visit with 52 elected officials over the next year promoting business in the northern Twin Cities area. Make sure you ask me, next time you see me, who I have met with!

6,000 copies of the Community Resource Guides are distributed within the area over the course of each year?
Intended for new residents and visitors, the guides are given out at local city halls, churches, hotels, community centers, and hospitals. Would you like to distribute them
