It shows how the nine families living there have created their own natural homes and gardens, driven by an urgent need to renew their relationship with the land. Through environmental design, green technology and permaculture, it explores how communities might live more sustainably in the future. Followed by a live video Q&A session with Jane Davidson, former Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing in Wales. 28th & 29th Jan Sightseers (Ben Wheatley, UK 2012, 89mins) Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) produces Ben Wheatley’s hugely enjoyable black comedy. But her arrival rustles more than a few feathers of the residents who feel their annual Verdi concert is under threat. After being framed and sent to prison, he escapes to take his revenge. 23rd Jan L’Atalante (Jean Vigo, France 1934, 89 mins) Jean, a barge captain, marries an innocent country girl and the two climb aboard Jean’s boat, the L’Atalante— otherwise populated by an earthy first mate and a multitude of mangy cats—to embark on their new life together. Both a surprisingly erotic idyll and a clear-eyed meditation on love, Vigo’s only feature-length work is a film like no other. 3D 3D
