Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His name; worship the Lord in holy splendor.
The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, upon many waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful, the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
**OPENING PRAYER “Baptism Of The Lord” Unison Father in heaven,
at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan You proclaimed
Him Your beloved Son and anointed Him with the Holy Spirit.
Grant that all who are baptized into His name may keep the
covenant they have made, and boldly confess Him as Lord
and Savior, who with You and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns,
One God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Scripture Readings NIV www.BibleGateway.com
Genesis 1: 1-5 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was
formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of
God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light
was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light
“day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was
morning—the first day.
Mark 1: 1-4 1 The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
2 It is written in Isaiah the prophet:
“I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way”— 3 “a voice of one calling in the desert,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.’”
4 And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of
repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Acts 19: 1-7 1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived
at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2 and asked them, “Did you receive
the Holy Spirit when you believed?”
They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”
“John’s baptism,” they replied.
4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to
believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were
baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them,
the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. 7 There
were about twelve men in all.
