Thousands of New Yorkers will be heading south to Washington, D.C. on a pilgrimage and will join with hundreds of thousands from throughout our nation and Canada. We go to the Capitol to witness for life and to pray asking God to have mercy and restore us to a Culture of Life. The bus departs at 6:00 AM from St. Patrick’s parking lot and returns approximately 11PM. We will Celebrate Mass at the Basilica in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel. The Celebrant will be our own Fr. Wilson. Please call Maria Litrenta at 962-1815 to reserve your seat on the bus. A Note from the Pastor

Dear Parishioners,

The Christmas Season comes to a close this year on Monday, January 8th with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. This weekend, we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany, and in most years, the Christmas Season would last about another week. Once again, because of the way the calendar falls, the Season is rather brief this year. Brief or not, the Church asks us to remember significant moments in the life of Jesus which make known various aspects of God’s plan for His people.

Even though this Monday is the official last day of Christmas, I’m quite certain most people have to take down decorations this weekend and put everything back in storage. A short season becomes even shorter and Ordinary Time basically starts sooner. That’s fine as long as we always remember the miracle of Christmas, even in Ordinary Time. Together with the memories of years past, our Christmas time this year now also becomes a memory. Hopefully, we have more joyous memories than not.

Of course, we are in a new year, so we are getting used to writing 2018. We do pray that this New Year will be one of peace and happiness for all. If we are saddened at this time for any reason, it is good to ask the Lord for the help that we need, and it is also good to ask others for help. That’s one of the reasons we have a parish family, and this parish is filled with so many people willing to help. That is what Jesus would want us to do.

Winter seems to have set in with gusto. In the midst of the cold Winter, some of our parishioners are planning to go by bus from here to Washington D.C. for the peaceful March for Life on January 19. The March is part prayer and part reminder to our elected officials that we stand up for every human person, born and unborn. Contact the rectory for information on the day trip. Keep up the prayers and support for a greater respect for life whether you are able to go to D.C or not. We thank God for His blessings and the miracle of every human life. Stay warm everyone!

Sincerely in Christ,
