Hi Everyone,
First off let me apologize for the delay in getting this out. I
was thinking I would have some answers by now, but like everything
else these days there is so much uncertainty. We do not have a date
set as to when the Senior Center will reopen. While the center is
closed, the calls are being returned. If you have a question,
concern or just want to talk, give me a call at 651-425-6650, leave
a message and I will return your call. I am envisioning a gradual
opening of activities. Many of our activities involve shared pieces
(dice, cards, tiles) and cannot be done safely or effectively while
social distancing. I see these activities being the last to start
up. We have started a few programs:
· Foot Care - Ginny is a registered nurse who specializes in
foot care. For an appointment please call 651-425-6650.
Leave a message indicating you are interested in foot care and I
will return your call to set up the appointment. The cost is $23.00
and is payable to Ginny at time of service. Foot care is typically
scheduled the first Tuesday and Friday of the month.
· Defensive Driving (55 Alive) – Receive information on
defensive driving tips, changes in laws, vehicle technology and
traffic safety. Call 1-888-234-1294 to register. Classes are held
at the Senior Center. Classes start at 5:00 pm and typically are
done by 8:30 pm. Classes are offered by St. Cloud State University.
To receive the 10% discount on your car insurance you must submit
your certificate from the course to your insurance provider.
An initial eight-hour course is required. To maintain your
discount, a four-hour refresher course needs to be completed every
three years.
· Grief Support - Sponsored by KOK Funeral Home, this group
meets to support one another after suffering a loss. Everyone is
welcome to come to learn from one another for helpful solutions for
healing. The group meets at the Senior Center on the second and
fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. For more information on the
Grief Support group please contact KOK Funeral Home at
651-459-2483.
Everyone participating in these classes will be required to wear
a mask and sign a waiver. Social distancing will be practiced in
all activities.

Hope you are finding things to keep yourselves busy and
entertained. Our Adult Enrichment Department is offering some great
classes. Some are online (via Zoom) and others are in-person (while
social distancing and wearing masks). I have enclosed a flyer
outlining some of these classes if you are interested. Check out

Once I have a tentative date as to when we will reopen, I will
