our PLC process. We are so excited that they attended and look forward to them sharing new knowledge to increase our understanding. Thank you to families who are helping keep our busy parking lot safe for students. In the mornings, students ONLY need to be dropped off along the sidewalk in front of the school. Please help us by NOT dropping off in the front parking lot at the designated signs or on Radcliff. Centennial police officers will be patrolling the area before and after school. We have had many close calls of students being hit. At the end of the day, drivers can pause-park along the curb to pick up their student(s) when they come out at dismissal. Please note the following rules for pause-parking:

Drivers must remain in their cars at all times. Drivers should pull forward as space becomes available. Drivers should NOT stop in the crosswalk. Drivers must remember to ALWAYS yield at the painted crosswalks and sidewalks. Please use the

crosswalks to drop off and pick up students. Please do not drive up into the staff parking/ loading dock area. Students are walking to and from

school in that area. It’s Silent Auction time! Information about our upcoming PTO fundraiser is coming home. Your child has the opportunity to win amazing experiences with our staff and other amazing prizes. Your donations help to support technology, field trips, and staffing. Don’t miss out on this fun way to support our school. We appreciate our wonderful MVE community. Go Mammoths, Mary R. REMINDERS FROM THE HEALTH CLINIC When calling the attendance line, please mention which symptoms your child is experiencing (fever, cough, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, etc.) when sick and staying home. This helps us track what types of illnesses are trending throughout our school and district. If your child has a confirmed illness (influenza, strep, pink eye, etc.) or ANY health updates (injury, specialist updates, med changes, etc.), please update your school nurse, Alissa Stevens, at [email protected] or 720-886-2704. In an effort to keep our students healthy at school, please use these guidelines when deciding if your child is too sick for school. A child with fever should stay home for at least 24 hours after the fever breaks, without fever-reducing medications (acetaminophen, ibuprofen). A child who vomits or has 2 or more episodes of diarrhea should stay home for at least 24 hours after their last episode of vomiting or diarrhea. Thank you for helping prevent the spread of illness. Alissa Stevens BSN, RN School Nurse

Cherry Creek School District Preschool Roundup

The month of February is Preschool Roundup in the Cherry Creek School District. Parents of new preschool students will discover how easy it is to register their child for high quality, affordable preschool.

The program features an extremely low staff-to-student ratio and a comprehensive, scientifically based, early childhood curriculum. The program helps youngsters develop the academic and social skills they need for kindergarten and beyond.

"We are an exceptional preschool program,” said Stacey Peoples, director of Early Childhood Education for Cherry Creek Schools. “And now we have an exceptional, one-stop registration process that is much more parent-friendly and kid-friendly.” Registration is the first step in what we hope will be a long and positive relationship with Cherry Creek. The Cherry Creek School District has over 80 different classrooms at 24 different locations. We have three different preschool programs (Colorado Preschool Program, Special Education, and Tuition).

You will start the registration process by answering the following three questions: 1. Will your child be 3 years old by August 18, 2020?

YES - please continue to the next question

NO - then visit our web page 2 weeks prior to your child's 3rd birthday to register for preschool. Children under 3 cannot be in our classrooms due to licensing requirements. You can stop here, we cannot register your child at this point in time.

2. Will your child be 5 on or before October 1, 2020?

NO - please continue to the next question.

YES - then your child is kindergarten age and qualifies to register for kindergarten. Children who are kindergarten age should not be in our preschool due to licensing requirements. Please visit the Cherry Creek School District web page for more information about kindergarten

registration. You can stop here, we cannot register your child at this point in time.

3. Is your child receiving services from Developmental Pathways, or are they identified with special education needs?

NO - please continue to the next section.

YES - please follow through with the Child Find Evaluation. That is the process that will register your child for preschool. You can stop here, we cannot register your child at this point in time.

Please visit our Early Childhood website for information regarding preschool registration. Preschool registration appointments will be available through a link on February 1st for preschool registrations beginning on February 18th. At the registration appointment, a Cherry Creek Schools Early Childhood expert will help parents fill out the district enrollment forms and any state forms that may be necessary.

Parents can request their child to attend morning or afternoon classes, four days a week.

Some families may be eligible for free or reduced-price tuition if their child has special needs or risk factors that qualify them.

Cherry Creek Schools offers preschool at 24 locations across the district. During their enrollment appointment, parents can select their priorities for placement. Parents will be notified of their placement and their child’s new teacher in May. The new preschool year begins in August.

We look forward to welcoming your family to Preschool.
