ВЕЛИКОПОСНІ РЕКОЛЕКЦІЇ

Цьогорічні духовні вправи - реколекції українською

мовою в нашій парафії відбудеться першого тижня посту.

Реколектант - Архиєпископ і Митрополит Івано -

Франківської єпархії Владика Володимир Війтишин.

Англомовні реколекції відбудеться на п’ятому тижні

посту. Реколектант - отець Джейсон Шарон з Карнегі,

Пенсильванія.

Слово «реколекції» походить від латинського recollection,

що означає відновлення. Українське слово «колекція»

асоціюється зі збиранням марок, значків. Кожна людина

упродовж свого життя, дня, тижня, місяця, року, назбирує

у душі певну «колекцію» добрих думок, діл, зауваг, а

також і недобрих, грішних. Церква здавна пропонує

робити час від часу такі реколекції – перегляд своєї

«колекції думок». Так, як і колекціонери час від часу

переглядають свої колекції і те, що зайве, віддають або

продають, а що потрібне – залишають, подібно й ми

намагаймося також переглянути, чого у моїй душі

забагато, а чого, можливо, не вистачає; може, щось треба

придбати, а чимось, можливо, поділитися.

Часто реколекції порівнюють ще до переораного осіннього

ґрунту, який справляють для того, щоб ті «рослини», яких

людина хоче позбутися, – вимерли, а, натомість, засіяти

туди ті, що потрібно. Подібно і у нашій душі час від часу

необхідно проводити певні реколекції чи дні віднови, щоби

«переорати» свій душевний стан. САМОТНІ ПАРАФІЯНИ

Якщо ви знаєте про самотніх парафіян, які з різних

причин, вік чи хвороба і т. д., є вдома чи в сестринських

будинках і їх не відвідує парафіяльний священик, дайте

Great Fast. Missionary - Father Jason Charron from

Recollection, as understood in respect to the spiritual life,

means attention to the presence of God in the soul. It includes

the withdrawal of the mind from external and earthly affairs in

order to attend to God and Divine things. It is the same as

interior solitude in which the soul is alone with God.

A Mission retreat refreshes and revitalizes, gives the

opportunity for more time spent in prayer and contemplation,

and rekindles and deepens one’s relationship with God. One

may take this opportunity to more clearly hear God’s call and

to seek God’s healing grace and thereby attain a degree of

spiritual renewal.

ПЕРЕДМОВА

Візантія (місцевість Віза) була започаткована, як невелике портове місто на європейській стороні

Босфору, яке понад одинадцять століть до Різдва Христового заселяли спочатку фракійці і називалося

Lygos, і яке стало грецьким поселенням близько шостого століття до Різдва Христового. Римляни

захопили його в 196 році нашої ери. Оригінальна літургійна традиція для служіння Літургії у Візантії

була “Західно-сирійська” традиція Антіохії в Сирії, де вперше прозвучала назва християни, і яку

сьогодні представляє Маронітська Церква. Коли імператор Костянтин вибрав місце для своєї нової

столиці, яка називалася Новим Римом, а згодом стала більше відомою як Константинополь (Місто

Костянтина), там літургія почала розвиватися своїм шляхом від четвертого до восьмого століть. Місто

стало незалежним від Антіохії в 381 році нашої ери. Можна було б припустити, що Костянтин приніс

багато придворних із Західної Європи, що призвело до деяких змін в літургійній практиці та з плином

часу розвинулося в кінцевому рахунку в Константинопільський Патріархат. Таким чином, протягом

багатьох століть форма Божественної Літургії змінилася, при цьому деякі фрагменти Літургії було

змінено самим духовенством, та дещо нового було додано та переобладнано. В результаті всієї цієї

плинності, логічний порядок Літургії іноді порушується або перекручується. І, можливо, жодна

частина не змінилася настільки, наскільки сама початкова частина, така як зібрання.

В середині другого століття нашої ери в Римі, мученик Юстин який створив катехетичну школу для

дорослих, накреслив порядок для служіння Євхаристії. Він пише: “Ніхто не може ділитися

Євхаристією з нами, якщо він не вважає, що те, що ми навчаємо є правильним, якщо він не

очищується у відроджуючих водах хрещення для відпущення своїх гріхів, і якщо він не живе

відповідно до принципів, даних нам Христом». До сьогодні ці передумови, як і раніше є необхідними

для етичного і плідного обміну в Євхаристії. Він продовжує давати порядок згідно якого служилося

богослуження. “У неділю ми маємо загальне зібрання всіх наших членів, незалежно чи вони живуть в

місті чи в сільській місцевості. Апостольські листи чи пророчі писання читаються, якщо є час. Коли

читач закінчив, провідник спільноти звертається до нас, закликаючи всіх наслідувати приклади

чесноти про які ми почули в читаннях. Тоді ми всі встаємо, щоб разом молитися. На закінчення нашої

молитви приносяться хліб, вино і вода. Лідер промовляє молитви і дякує в міру своїх здібностей, і

люди висловлюють свою згоду, промовляючи: “Амінь!” Євхаристія роздається і кожен причащається,

тоді диякони несуть її до тих, хто відсутній. “Святий Юстин наголошує, що ті, хто матеріально

забезпечений, вносять свій внесок, якщо вони хочуть, і кошти використовуються для потребуючих і

т.д. Збірка, здається, відбувалася після богослуження. Ця модель залишається зразком, відносно якого

формувалися всі інші обряди і церемонії.

originally by Thracians more than eleven centuries before Christ and called Lygos. It became a Greek

settlement about six centuries before Christ, and the Romans took the site in 196 AD. The original liturgical

tradition for the celebration of the Eucharist at Byzantium was the “West Syrian” tradition of Antioch in

Syria, where we were first called Christians, and which today is represented by the Maronite Church. When

the Emperor Constantine chose the site for his new capital to be called New Rome and then better known as

Constantinople (Constantine’s City), the liturgy there began to develop in its own way from the fourth to

eight centuries. It had become independent from Antioch in 381 AD. One would presume that Constantine

brought many courtiers from Western Europe which prompted some changes in the liturgical practices over

time, and which developed eventually into the Patriarchate of Constantinople. So over the centuries the

format for the Divine Liturgy has changed, with some things being removed or else said silently by the

clergy, and with some new things being inserted, or elements being rearranged. As a result of all this

fluidity, the logical order of the Liturgy is sometimes obscured or twisted. And perhaps no part has changed

as much as the opening portion, the gathering.

Writing in the mid-second Christian century at Rome, Justin Martyr—who had established a

catechetical school for adults there—give an outline of the order for the celebration of the Eucharist. He

writes, “No one may share the Eucharist with us unless he believes that what we teach is true, unless he is

washed in the regenerating waters of baptism for the remission of his sins, and unless he lives in accordance

with the principles given to us by Christ.” To this day those prerequisites are still required for an ethical and

fruitful sharing in the Eucharist. He goes on to give an outline of the service. “On Sunday we have a

common assembly of all our members, whether they live in the city or the countryside. The recollections of

the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read as long as there is time. When the reader has finished,

the leader of the assembly speaks to us, urging everyone to imitate the examples of virtue we have heard in

the readings. Then we all stand up to pray together. At the conclusion of our prayer, bread, wine and water

are brought out. The leader offers prayers and gives thanks to the best of his ability, and the people give their

assent by saying ‘Amen!’ The Eucharist is distributed and everyone partakes, then the deacons take it to

those who are absent.” St. Justin does mention that those with the resources make a contribution if they

wish, and the funds are used for the needy, etc. The collection seems to be made outside the ritual proper.

This pattern remains the skeleton on which all the other rites and ceremonies are situated.

євангелистом Лукою (Лк. 2:22-39). У Єрусалимському

храмі маленького Ісуса зустрів праведний Симеон,

якому «було відкрито Святим Духом, що не бачитиме

смерті, перш ніж побачить Христа Господа», і

пророчиця Анна, що мала 84 роки та жила при храмі.

Старець Симеон віддав хвалу Богові, взяв на руки

Дитятко та промовив чудесні слова, що їх Церква

тепер співає на Вечірній: «Нині, Владико, можеш

THE FEAST OF

THE ENCOUNTER OF OUR LORD

The Christmas cycle of feast days concludes with the feast

of the Presentation of our Lord on February 2nd, the

fortieth day after the Nativity of Christ. This event is described in the Gospel of St. Luke (2:22-

28). On this day we celebrate the purification of Mary, the

presentation and dedication of Jesus as the first-born, and

the encounter with Simeon and the prophetess Anna. Upon

encountering the Lord Jesus, Simeon exalted in Jubilation

saying: “Now, Master, you may let your servant go in

peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your

salvation, which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a

light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your

people Israel.” (Lk 2:29-32) In our Byzantine tradition, we bless candles during the

Feast of The Encounter of Our Lord. Light is a significant

symbol of Christ who is the light of the world. We take the

blessed candles home as a reminder that, as Christians, the

light of Christ burns within us and we are to shine forth

that light to the world.
