SWBAT: understand elements in a persuasive argument
RESPONSIBILITY
REFLECTIONAnswer all three—try to make it one paragraph.
1. Does your reading lexile represent who you are as a student? (does it match how you are in the
classroom/efforts?)
2. What is your responsibility now that you know this information in black and white? (were you surprised?
Do you know you need to work harder, or do you think you can just coast now?)
3. How do you stay motivated either way?
If you did this, go here Google: Matthew Hansen/ “Words
Matter” and read.

HookLooking into my rearview mirror, I saw the flashing
lights and thought to myself, “But it’s only 10:01! SERIOUSLY?” This scenario would potentially be the
reality of many teenagers if the mayors proposed curfew were put into place. I do not believe this is a good idea, primarily because of the freedoms it will
restrict. If I were being asked, I would say that a enacting a 10:00PM curfew is a bad idea, and I would
ask that the idea be rejected.
