An American Story: Race Amity and the Other TraditionThursday, January 10, at 10:00 p.m.
A film about "the other tradition" in American race relations: the tradition of amity and close cross-racial collaboration to advance equity and social justice.
In contrast to the lens that focuses exclusively on the racist traditions that are rooted in America's social history, the moral counterweight of close, loving, friendship and collaboration, which have always been present in our history, represents "the other tradition."
Power to Heal: Medicare and the Civil Rights RevolutionMonday, January 21, at 9:00 p.m.
An hour-long documentary chronicling the historic struggle to secure equal and adequate access to healthcare for all Americans. Central to the story is the tale of how a new national program, Medicare, was used to mount a dramatic, coordinated effort that racially desegregated thousands of hospitals across the country, all in a matter of months in 1966.
