From the Vice principal
I would like to extend a warm welcome to 2017 to all members of the
AusIS community. It’s great to be back in school after what I trust was a most enjoy-
able break for all.
Term 2 was indeed an action packed and fun-filled month for all the students, parents
and the teachers.
In the month of December, 2017, the teachers of the Foundation Year made an ar-
rangement with the parents to conduct a class activity to teach students to appraise
their parents for their priceless contribution in their lives.
On December, 10, the teachers arranged a class party for all the students of Early
Childhood to Year 5 where they cherished and celebrated the wonderful times spent
together, marking the end of Term 2. Every student brought food or drinks from
home as a way to celebrate the pot-luck party at school.
Christmas day, Winter Carnival and the 47th Victory day Program was celebrated at
Australian International School, Dhaka on December, 12, 2017. The students of all
classes joyfully participated in various acts, singing and dancing performances which
were witnessed by all the parents, our honorable Director MD. Azizul Islam and our
Guest Speaker Major General Imamuz Zaman, recognized as the Bir Bikram Free-
dom Fighter and Gallantry Award Holder, reporters from NTV And Bangla TV and
all the members of the AusIS community present during the event. To make the event
more entertaining a Santa Claus was arranged by AusIS who visited all the classes
from the PYP section to distribute presents to the students on behalf of their parents
in the classrooms. On the same day report cards were distributed to all students from
Early Childhood to Year 5.
AusIS will celebrate its 13th Annual Sports Day Program on the 7 and 8 February.
Expecting students will participate with joy and vitality.
I would like to remind all parents and students that there is a change in school com-
mencement time from 8:00AM to 8:30AM and students are expected to maintain an
attendance and punctuality rate of 95% or better. This is the minimum internationally
-accepted standard and for the majority of students it is a standard that is easily
achieved and maintained.
Mobile phones and other immoral items i.e. addictive drugs, which threaten to tarnish
the environment are strictly prohibited to be carried inside the school premises.
Our goal is to develop responsible citizens and assist them in building
a bright future.
Warm Regards,
Michael Baroi
