CPWD : Dedicated to Nation Building Since 1854

For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.

Dear Colleagues,To achieve the lofty goals that we have set for ourselves for the year 2016, we mustwork as a cohesive family, with commitment and enthusiasm, while continuouslyupdating and empowering ourselves with knowledge and skills. We must take year 2016as a ‘year of opportunity’ and go on board on a journey of further growth anddiversification, which is imperative for our sustenance and survival.

In the year 2015, we have achieved many visible milestones, which I have already brieflyshared with you in my new year message. Till the end of December 2015, we haveachieved a workload of Rs. 7000 crores and by the end of FY 2015-16, we shall be ableto achieve a workload of more than 11000 crores, which is approx 10% more than theworkload achieved during last fiscal. We need to further focus on our workload aimingminimum 20% increase per annum.

In the month of December, the three days Senior Officers Conference to discuss theissues such as business development, delivery of projects etc. was held in New Delhi. The actionable issues, which emerged out of three days intense deliberations have beenintimated to all concerned for taking necessary action. I would request all SDGs/ADGs/CEs/CPMs to act upon the actionable issues swiftly.

It has been seen that many a times, personal interests of a group take precedence, which derail the development agenda and growth trajectory of the Department. Theinterest of department should be foremost, no matter even if it entails a little bit ofpersonal sacrifice as the development of the Department is intertwined with thedevelopment of the individual. Every one of us needs to create an enabling environmentfor shaping the bright future for the Department, and continuously remind ourselves thethrobbing mantra that ‘we will flourish only if the department flourishes’.

Friends, our performance is now continuously evaluated against that of other players inthe field. We are supposed to be more dexterous, sure footed and more alert to grabnew opportunities and focus on time bound delivery with quality. I am sure that all of youwill continue to portray your commitment and hard work to face the challenges of futureand take the Department to new horizon.

Thank you,

(Divakar Garg)
