A Word From Our LeaderHappy New Year!

As the hustle and bustle of the holiday season comes to a close, it is time to face the reality that another year has ended and a new one is starting. It is time for reflecting on the accomplishments of the past year and setting new year’s resolutions for the year to come.

In 2014, we spent the year at our office celebrating our 50th Anniversary serving the community. We focused on showing our gratitude to our patients and had fun with 12 months of giveaways. We ended the year with our 2nd Annual 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway. A special THANK YOU to all of our patients who participated in the activities—our team was truly touched by the numerous heartfelt submissions we received for each task.

As we prepare for 2015, our team is striving to find even more ways to make your experience of coming to the dentist an unexpected pleasure. You’ll be seeing facility improvements, new contests, involvement in the community and more as we progress throughout the year. Our team members are also already hard at work planning for our annual events including Free Dental Care Day and Movie Night. What’s Your 2015 Resolution? January is the perfect time to make your resolutions for the year. Here are some tips to help you set your goals this year:

1. Use the SMART mnemonic:S – Specific (or Significant).M – Measurable (or Meaningful).A – Attainable (or Action-Oriented).R – Relevant (or Rewarding).T – Time-bound (or Trackable).

2. Set small, appropriate goals. If you are unsure, seek advice or guidance from someone you trust.

3. Accept that failure can happen and disappointments are a part of life.This does not mean that you must accept failure, but accept that sometimes when we try at something we may not succeed the first time. Don’t give up!

4. Be realistic.Don’t set yourself up for failure. For example, if you have not been exercising, don’t expect to run a half marathon with only a couple weeks of running.

5. Understand and accept that your life’s path is not the same as that of the person next to you.

You may share the same goals, but your means for getting there may be different. Work with what suits you. Remember that what makes you feel whole may work for someone else.

6. Ask for help.Some things cannot be accomplished without help. Reach out to someone you trust and who supports you.

Dental Health MonthFebruary is Children’s Dental Health Month. Last year in February 2014 several of our team members, including two hygienists went out to visit local schools for Children’s Dental Health Month.
