Word From The Pastor
2011…Make it a Point!
2011 is upon us and I believe it can be your best year ever if you will make it a point to do a few things. The truth of the matter is very few things can be accom-plished haphazardly, or without purpose. So I want to encourage you to make the fol-lowing things a priority in 2011!
1. Make it a point to GROW- join the discipleship program, get involved in a
ministry team, read your Bible each day, or memorize scripture. These things and many others will help you grow spiritually in 2011.
2. Make it a point to SERVE- Keep your eyes open for service opportunities, at home, work, and in the community. Serve someone in need, there are many opportunities to do this, inside and outside of the church.
3. Make it a point to CONNECT- connect with family, friends, and other Christians like you never have before. Read your Bible with your family or a group at work. Take your children and do a service project. Coach one of your children’s teams.
4. Make it a point to be in CHURCH- The average active church family at-tends 27 times a year. That is barely half of the time. Make church a point this year it will help every area of your life!
5. Make it a point to GO- This year Cowboy Fellowship is going to attempt to send four international mission teams out. Maybe God will call you to be on one of those teams. Or perhaps he will just call you to go across the street or to an office. Wherever he calls you to go make it a point to do so.
6. Make it a point to STAY INFORMED- I know in a large church it is difficult to stay informed, so you will need to make this a point in your life. Read the e-news, bulletin, and face book page. Look at the website, Acts map, or bulletin board. The best way to stay informed is to be involved.
7. Make it a point to REST- It’s ok to say no to people, engagements, parties, and even work. Saying no to God however is unadvised. But most of the time we choose people over God. This year make it a point to say no and rest. You don’t have to do everything!
8. Make it a point to DISCIPLE- If you are a believer you should make it a point to invest your life into someone else this year. Part of being a disci-ple of Jesus Christ is making other disciples.
9. Make it a point to GIVE- God commands us to do this, but less than 2% of Christians make it a point in their lives. Make this a point in 2011 and you will be blessed!
10. Make it a point to FORGIVE- Let go of the past, choose forgiveness and you will feel so much better. It really does not matter what the issue is about, you just need to make it a point to forgive in 2011.
These are not just ten things I want you to do. This list will be mine in 2011 as well.
Lets all agree to make it a point to make this year the best one yet!
I hope to see you in church!
Pastor Pete

The Acts Report
Matthew 25:35 has been
busy in October..not only
in Jerusalem but in Judea
and Samaria as well! Re-
cently, they ended a food
and toy drive to benefit
children in Jerusalem
(Atascosa County). They
raised several thousands
of dollars through your
generous donations and
more than 3 shopping
carts full of food were
delivered to needy fami-
lies and CAM (another
local ministry that we
help support!) We also
give monthly to the Atas-
cosa Family Crisis Center
and The Navigators.
Beginning, Thursday,
January 6th, Matt 25:35
will begin building a deck
and a handicap access
ramp for The Refuge in
Poteet. The Refuge is a
ministry that we help sup-
port financially, that is
designed to help young
women avoid abortion
and keep their babies.
They offer counseling,
diapers, parenting classes,
baby clothes, etc to help
these young women in
their struggles. If you
would like to become a
part of Matthew 25:35
