It was a very trying year for the Chamber. We only broke even on our CornFest, which is our major income source. So like any business, that has felt this economic downturn, the Chamber is having to make important decisions to keep it viable. That is exactly what the Board and the CEO are now doing. The Board is making the necessary decisions to bring our expenses in line with our income. Because of this I feel that 2011 will be a very good year for your Chamber. The Chamber will continue to provide resources for our members to help them improve their business. These resources include our “Good Morning Brentwood” which has guest speakers speaking to business operations and City topics, monthly mixers where the business owner can network with other business owners to promote their business. A new feature at the mixer allows members to give a 30 second infomercial about their business. And Brown Bag Lunches where the member can learn and discuss how to improve their business. The Brentwood Chamber also hosts SCORE Counselors at the Chamber office two days a month. These are counselors of small businesses. So if you have questions or need help regarding your business and its operations, you should use this service. Information about these and other services are available on our website and our weekly e-mails to all members. I encourage all members to get involved with the Chamber this year. You can do that by becoming an ambassa- dor or volunteering to help with the CornFest, Hometown Halloween, Holiday Parade, Golf Tournament, or the Taste of Brentwood. Your help can be big or small but whatever amount of time you can spend will help the Chamber and, therefore, its members have a positive 2011. I am excited about this Chamber year and the challenges it will bring. With the outstanding Board of Directors we have I know that the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce will be as strong as ever providing the business community with much needed services. I would like to thank Shayn Cutino-Chamber Past President, the Board of Directors, the

CEO, the staff and the Ambassadors for a job “well done” this past year. It was a very

trying year for the Chamber. We only broke even on our CornFest, which is our major

income source. So like any business, that has felt this economic downturn, the Chamber

is having to make important decisions to keep it viable. That is exactly what the Board

and the CEO are now doing. The Board is making the necessary decisions to bring our

expenses in line with our income. Because of this I feel that 2011 will be a very good

year for your Chamber.

The Chamber will continue to provide resources for our members to help them improve their business. These

resources include our “Good Morning Brentwood” which has guest speakers speaking to business operations and

City topics, monthly mixers where the business owner can network with other business owners to promote their

business. A new feature at the mixer allows members to give a 30 second infomercial about their business. And

Brown Bag Lunches where the member can learn and discuss how to improve their business. The Brentwood

Chamber also hosts SCORE Counselors at the Chamber office two days a month. These are counselors of small

businesses. So if you have questions or need help regarding your business and its operations, you should use

this service. Information about these and other services are available on our website and our weekly e-mails to

all members.

I encourage all members to get involved with the Chamber this year. You can do that by becoming an ambassa-

dor or volunteering to help with the CornFest, Hometown Halloween, Holiday Parade, Golf Tournament, or the

Taste of Brentwood. Your help can be big or small but whatever amount of time you can spend will help the

Chamber and, therefore, its members have a positive 2011.

I am excited about this Chamber year and the challenges it will bring. With the outstanding Board of Directors

we have I know that the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce will be as strong as ever providing the business

community with much needed services.

I consider it a great privilege to serve as Chamber President for the year 2011.

Ambassador's Corner

I’m Maurice Daroy with Farmers Insurance, the Daroy Insurance Agency and our

Brentwood Chamber Ambassador of the Year. I would like to take this opportunity to

introduce myself and to thank the Brentwood Chamber and community for all their

support over the last 14 years.

So who’s Maurice? I’m a father, a husband, a local business owner and this year’s

2011 Ambassador of the Year for our Brentwood Chamber of Commerce.

As a father one of life’s largest rewards is watching your family grow up. Together,

my wife Angela and I, are blessed to have our three sons Reese (17), Dustin (14) and

Ryan (11). With our oldest son Reese headed to college next year, we find ourselves

asking each other , “Where did all the time go?”

In 1997 I started a career in the Insurance industry. Shortly after that, in 1998, I

opened my agency here in our Delta community. With the support of Farmers Insur-

ance I’ve been able to offer our residential clients many products such as Auto, Home

and Life insurance. For our business clients, we have General Liability, Workers

Comp and Bonds just to name a few. The first 9 years of business I was located in the

Liberty Links Center, which was next to Brentwood Dodge across from Bill Brandt

Ford. In 2006 we moved to our current location at 9040 Brentwood Blvd #C which is

basically next door to the Brentwood Police Department.

Our Chamber, have you ever noticed we have a special “BUZZ” about us? When I

first became a Chamber member back in 1998, I remember our Chamber basically

operating as a one man (one woman, Bonnie!) show. Since then we’ve bloomed into a

full staff and many Officers, Directors and Ambassadors. All which help our Chamber

operate smoothly and always with our community’s best interest in mind. I’ve found

the benefits of becoming a Chamber Ambassador extend well beyond the basic meet

and greet. It’s the opportunity to help build and

strengthen a community. So whether you’re having a

Ribbon Cutting, a Monthly Mixer or even a Fund-

raiser I’m sure you’ll find the Chamber by your side.

I’m looking forward to making new friends and

supporting local business in 2011.

Sincerely,

Maurice J. Daroy, LUTCF
