Souper Sunday Lunch

Souper Sunday is a Nation-wide project which was started by a High School youth from Spring Valley Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC. in 1990 in response to a simple prayer: “Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those who are without a bowl of soup to eat.”

You are encouraged to start collecting cans of soup in your Sunday School class to be donated to the ROC food pantry. A Souper Sunday trophy will be awarded to the Sunday School class who donates the most soup in the adult, youth and children’s Sunday School classes.

For Souper Sunday we will serve a tasty soup & salad lunch to our church family beginning at 11 a.m. in Schreiber Hall. Donations will support the Pastor’s Fund.

For dessert, we look forward to your entries in the Souper Sweet Dessert Competition! Everyone is eligible to enter, and all of us will enjoy your tasty treats. Desserts will be judged and prizes awarded at our Souper Sunday meal.
