the Sanctuary. If you are new to Chancellor
Baptist, join us in Room 202 at 9am for CBC 101.
Enjoy a nice breakfast, coffee, and get to know us!
Coat Drive - The Carmical/Norman Connect Group will be collecting
gently-used coats again this year. The coats will be taken to area ministries
and used for those in need in our area. Thank you for giving!

Men’s Breakfast – We will meet January 14 at 8:00 am. The work projects
are processing and delivering firewood as well as some inside jobs around
the church building. Bring gloves! Call Dean Cumbia at 540-907-2602 for
any questions.
Youth Parents - On Sunday, January 15th at 5:15 pm we will be having a
youth parent’s dinner in the youth room. Please bring a side dish. We will
be discussing the great things ahead in the New Year!
Connect Groups - Connect groups resume January 15th. Several meeting
places are available throughout the week. Look for sign-up sheets in the
back foyer soon!
Scholarship - Virginia Baptist Foundation awards scholarships for all
undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate students. Apply by going to
vbfinc.org/scholarships. Applications are due January 31, 2017.

“He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.” Luke 1:17 (ESV)

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14 (ESV)
