Pastor’s Corner

My dear Parishioners,

As I mentioned in last week’s bulletin, I am currently away on a parish sponsored pilgrimage to the Holy Land with several of our parishioners as well as other friends. I would ask that you continue to remember us and pray for us as we experience this graced opportunity to walk in the footsteps of Christ and visit the holy shrines there. This is my first trip to the Holy Land and I am very excited to have this experience. As I make this spiritual journey, know that I am remembering all of you my beloved parishioners and your special intentions in my Masses and devotions there. We plan on returning this week on Thursday. Please pray for a safe trip and I look forward to seeing all of you soon!

While I am away I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to several guest priests who are covering the Mass schedule for me. First, Fr. James McBurney O.S.A. who will celebrate Confessions and the 5 PM Vigil Mass this weekend. Monsignor Donald Leighton (Pastor Emeritus of St. John Vianney, Gladwyne) who will celebrate the 7 AM and 8:30 AM Masses on Sunday as well as Msgr. Jagodzinski (Pastor Emeritus of St. Katherine of Siena, Wayne) who will cele-brate the 10:00 and 11:30 am Masses later that morning. I am grateful for their assistance. In addition, I thank Msgr. Leighton who will be taking all the daily Masses at 8 AM.

Next Sunday, we begin Catholic Schools Week (January 26th – February 1st). The theme for this year is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” More information regarding the events of this week will follow in next week’s bulletin.

Finally, an update on our Annual Appeal. As of this writing we have received a total of $ 85,620 in donations. There is still time to contribute if you haven’t already done so. I want to thank all of you who have responded to this appeal. May God bless you for your generosity!

Love and prayers, Fr. Carey
