PRAYER for the SOULS of PURGATORY One of the greatest acts of charity we can do is prayer for those souls who have passed before us. Through our prayers, we can help the faithful departed during their time in Purgatory, so that they can enter more quickly into the fullness of Heaven. If you are offering the prayer for a particular person, you can substitute "him" or "her" for "them." Lets pray daily for all the souls of purgatory:

PRAYER for ETERNAL REST Eternal rest grant unto all, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon them.

May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

On behalf of Fr Remo, Fr Nick & Brother Rudolph,

THANK YOU your cards, your generous gifts and especially your prayers!!

May God bless you, may God continue to watch over you and may He fill you with grace and

peace in the coming year!

SCRIPTURAL REFLECTION “Jesus turned and saw them following him and

said to them, ‘What are you looking for?’” - John 1:38

What are you looking for? Are you wasting your time looking for the material comforts of the world? Or, is your heart longing for something deeper that can only be found by spending time with God? Take time, each day, in silence and ask the Lord what it is that He wants you to do.

Prayer: God, please give me the grace to find quiet and silence within the circumstances of my life so I can listen to You and know Your wants for me.

VOCATION PRAYER CHALICE Praying for vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life is both a responsibility and privilege of the laity. We at Saint Ann Church have begun a beautiful ministry of prayer for vocations using the Vocation Prayer Chalice. Each Sunday at the end of a Mass, a family or individual will be presented the Vocation Prayer Chalice, a candle, and a booklet with prayers for each day of the week. In taking the Prayer Chalice, they commit themselves to pray each day during that week on behalf of our parish for vocations. There is no doubt that the Holy Spirit is calling forth men and women (boys and girls) from this very parish community to these courageous and beautiful roles of service in the Church. May our prayers help inspire them to be attentive to the movement of the Holy Spirit within them and to step forward in faith and with generous hearts to wherever the Spirit leads them! Consider being part of this wonderful opportunity of prayer... Please pray on it! If you would like to receive the Vocation Prayer Chalice into your home and pray for vocations, please contact the parish office at 201-659-1114 or email [email protected] and have your name placed on the schedule. There is power in prayer. The blessings and graces are endless!

PRAYER for VOCATIONS Loving God, Who wish all men

to be saved and to come to the knowledge of Your truth:

send, we beg You, laborers into Your harvest, and grant them grace

to speak Your word with all boldness; so that Your word may spread and be glorified,

and all nations may know You, the only God, and Him Whom You have sent,

Jesus Christ Your Son, Our Lord, Who lives and reigns world without end. Amen.

JOIN US in DAILY PRAYER for VOCATIONS: Please pray one OUR FATHER, one HAIL MARY, one GLORY BE for an increase in vocations for the

Capuchin Franciscan Friars Province of the Stigmata of Saint Francis and to the Archdiocese of Newark. For more info, please visit www.capuchinfriars.org or www.rcan.org/offices-and-ministries/vocations.

ACCELERATED CONFIRMATION CLASSES for ADULTS The Accelerated Adult Confirmation Classes are for adults who are baptized Catholic, received First Communion, catechized and are now seeking to complete their Sacraments of Initiation. There are three (3) Sacraments of Initiation, Baptism, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. Have you received your three (3) Sacraments of Initiation? If you are an adult who is Baptized and have received your Holy Communion but have not been confirmed, then you are a candidate for Adult Confirmation classes. Why be confirmed? Confirmation brings the process of Christian Initiation to completion, to be fully initiated in the Catholic faith. What do we do? We meet as a small-group, focusing on the connection of the practice of our Catholic faith to our experiences in our everyday lives. We will look at how your image of God affects our relationship with Him. We use various resources including the US Catholic Catechism for Adults, ‘Catholicism Video Series Program’ and The New American Bible, Revised Edition. It is an opportunity to see our faith, as adults for the first time with an adult understanding. The class meets for 10 continuous Tuesdays:

January 23rd thru March 27th, 7pm – 9pm Padre Pio Chapel, 619 Jefferson Street

For details, please contact Cheryl M James, Director of RCIA via phone: 201-659-1114 Ext. 102

or email: [email protected]. PLEASE NOTE: for Adults, who have not completed their sacraments of Baptism and First Communion, please contact Cheryl James for more information

about our RCIA program.
