Objective
I wish to serve on the Board of Directors of Palm Lakes Village. My husband and
I have been residents of PLV for 3 years and I recently retired from my full-time
job. Now that I have more time I want to be member of the board as Palm Lakes
Village moves forward. We have many longtime residents and many new residents
moving into the community and I believe it is time for the newer residents to step
up and become active in positions that will keep the Village a home we can all be
proud of. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the residents of Palm Lakes
Village.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Management
I have served in numerous positions as a Marketing Manager during my career, managing team members and
many projects.
Communication
I am an excellent communicator in a one-on-one or group environment. My communication skills can be a real
asset to the Board of Directors.
Leadership
I have served in many leadership roles during my career and believe I can bring new ideas and serve as a team
player on the board to continuing improving Palm Lakes Village.
Experience
I have served as Marketing Manager, Web Designer, Graphic Designer, Business Development Manager and
Customer Service Representative in the Phoenix area for the past 20 years. I am currently providing graphic
design services on a part-time basis to an online print and marketing company.
I served as a member of the Architectural Committee and was a member of the CC&R review
Committee.
ELIZABETH LAY

OBJECTIVE
I would be honored to serve as a board member of Palm Lakes Village for
several reasons. First is my desire to serve a community of caring, thoughtful, and
fun-loving, responsible adults. Your
willingness and varied ways of looking out for one another inspire the best in me
to put others first.
Second is my time to serve the Palm Lakes Village community. I am now fully
retired, am an active member of my church, and am finally healthy enough, at last,
thank goodness, to still be able to ride my motorcycle to places like Oak Creek
Canyon, Tombstone, and downtown Phoenix during rush hour in the HOV lane!
My life is good and it's time to give back. I would like to do that as your board
member.

Skills & Abilities
With a Master's Degree in English, my career experiences have been rich and varied where language skills have
been tantamount. I have been a college instructor, a high school teacher, professional writer and
published book author, editor and literary agent for developing writers, spokesperson for new state
curriculum standards, developer for AFI (American Film Institute) innovations in YA film making in the
classroom, and researcher, planning coordinator, and writer for a state historical museum's online curriculum.
Leadership
I've worked for myself, little private companies, giant national corporations, non-profits, education and
research groups, and book and magazine publishers.
What would I bring to the board of Palm Lakes Village besides a good speaking voice and fairly well
practiced reading and writing skills? Patience, good people skills, personal commitment for
public responsibility, an open mind, and a desire and willingness to
JERRY BOURGEOIS
COVER LETTER
With great humility, I am submitting my Expression of Interest Form along with
my resume. I have spent my entire career in the service to others industry mostly
in the financial services arena.
Since moving into the PLV community on May 27t h of this year, I immediately
knew that I wanted to become part of the leadership team. In June, I attended a
Finance Committee Meeting and was asked soon after to become an interim
member during the summer.
For the past 20+ years, I have been the assistant to the Executive Pastor of my
church. I am one of the people that makes sure certain things are in place behind
the scenes for others to perform their duties before each service. One of my many
functions is to transfer the offering money from the church to the Administrative
Office safe.
One of my biggest assets to the Board is that I have a proven track record of
helping people of all personalities and stages in life from just starting out Mom &
Pop business people to retirees helping them choose a retirement package to
former Air Force fighter pilots helping plan their retirement investment choices as
the Administrator of the America West Airline retirement 401(k) plan.
I present my package with great humility having no agenda only to make Palm
Lakes Village an even better place to reside than what it is presently which is
pretty nice or we would not be here.
Sincerely,
Gerald F. (Jerry) Bourgeois

Anyway, I am ready for another robust continental breakfast and friendly conversation
and of course all the smiles I can get.
Join us down at the clubhouse, January 16th, from 8:00 am to 9:30 am Saturday

Bundle up, bring your warm smiles and come in and say mornin' and enjoy!

Tender Loving Care T.L.C. – Kathy Mitchell & Friends
The New Year is moving fast.
It is already the middle of January and PLV residents are doing well.
There are no reports of major problems to date and a reason to be
thankful and to count our blessings.
Count Your Blessings | Johnson Oatman, Jr
When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
Refrain: Count your blessings, name them one by one, Count your blessings, see what God has done! Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God has done. And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by. When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold; Count your many blessings—
money cannot buy wealth can never buy Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
So, amid the conflict whether great or small, Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend, Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
