Siesta Key Beach Night is Back!!!
Beach Night didn’t really go away as much as the holidays got in the way. We are now regrouping and bringing it back, the third Friday monthly, beginning Jan. 15. We‘ll meet even in winter months, just put on extra sweater (if needed) and get together for good food, good fellowship, favorite beverages and of course gorgeous sunsets.
Since the sun sets around 5:30 - 6:00 pm, we’ll meet at 4:00 pm on Siesta Key, and provide charcoal so you can cook dinner if you wish. Come at any time.
A special thanks to Lynn and Rosemary Quartermaine for hosting Beach Night for the past few years. They’ll be a hard act to follow! - Rick and Kay Thorson
Soon and Very Soon .......... Too soon we scamper through the Christmas Season enjoying the
efforts of the Decorating Committee to help St. Thomas More
Church celebrate the glory of the season. We now approach the
Baptism of the Lord in a new year and find it is time undecorate.
To the 10th Annual Decorate and Dedecorate Committee for
2015/2016 there is a heart-felt “Thank You” to each and every person
who volunteered their time and effort bringing many compliments
from fellow parishioners. Our church, chapel and Gathering Area
were a source of pride for all. Fr. Joe said it well with his comment
about everything being creative, in good taste and well-done. And Sr.
Judy, who gives us guidance and keeps us liturgically correct -- what
would we do without her?
And so we take this opportunity to, once again, remind our
faithful helpers that what goes up must come down, be carefully iden-
tified and stored for next year’s celebration. Please consider joining
us on Monday, January 11th around 8:30 am in the church.
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful season!

Safe Environment TrainingAs Christian adults, we have a moral and legal responsibility and are entrusted by God with the spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of minors and vulnerable adults. As they participate in activities within or sponsored by our diocese, it is our commitment to provide an environment which is safe and nurturing.
In accordance with the Diocese of Venice policy to offer Safe Environment Training to all volunteers, the parishes listed will hold training sessions. All volunteers who have routine contact with children or vulnerable adults, MUST BE TRAINED in safe environment awareness issues. No one should attend Safe Environment Training until their fingerprints have cleared.
Please contact the parish secretary at the location you wish to attend with your name and telephone number at least two weeks prior to the training. Due to the sensitive nature of this training, no children are permitted to attend.
