First thoughtsDavid hull, Pastor

Last sunday was an awesome day for our church. First Fellowship worship moved into a new home in the Life Center as 566 people worshiped god together in that beautiful space. in the afternoon folks toured throughout the new addition during the open house and then we dedicated the place to the glory of god. it was a day of celebration, thanksgiving, and great expectation.

Now what? Now that we have moved the worship service and dedicated the building, what are the next steps as we grow into our new addition? Let

me offer a few thoughts about the process before us.

First, there is still some work being done in the Life Center related to media equipment. in addition, other pieces of equipment (such as basketball goals) have not arrived yet. so it will likely be February before that space can be used for recreation. When the space is ready, we will share more information about how we can utilize the Life Center for recreation. in addition, the Fitness Center will also not be functional until February. right now it is being used for storage until we can move the offices. Once that takes place, we will unload the fitness equipment and set the room up. You may be all excited about starting your New Year fitness program, so go ahead and start exercising somewhere else and then join me in the Fitness Center next month when we open up.

Speaking of the offices, when will that move occur? We anticipate that most of our staff will move into new office space either the week of January 21 or 28. Following that move there will be some renovation work done to the current office space before the Music Ministry staff and several sunday school classes will then re-occupy the area. Once we have all of the new offices set up and we have moved in, we will have an office Open House and invite everyone to come see where all of the staff members are now located.

Finally, i mentioned on sunday that Dru Murphree has resigned as our Media Director. i am so grateful for what Dru has done for our church in this area during a very important time of transition. Many thanks Dru for a job well done! Now what? We will begin searching for a new Media Director for our church. in the meantime, Jeremy Wilkerson has agreed to take on the extra responsibility of being Interim Media Director to bring coordination to this vital ministry on a short-term basis. Thanks Jeremy for your willingness to lead us in this way.

My fortune cookie at lunch last sunday said, “You will make many changes before settling satisfactorily.” this is a time of great change for us, but thanks for your wonderful spirit as we settle into the future that god has prepared for us.

Let
