JANESVILLE ACOUSTICS NAMED FINALIST FOR 2013 CHRYSLER SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR FOR TECHNICAL COST REDUCTION
Innovative Product Designs Generated Significant Cost Savings in 2012 SOUTHFIELD, MICH. (JUNE 12, 2013) – Janesville Acoustics, a Jason Incorporated company, has been
recognized by Chrysler Group LLC as a finalist for a 2013 Supplier of the Year Award in the category of
Technical Cost Reduction. The company was among three suppliers contending for the Supplier of the
Year Award at Chrysler’s Annual Strategy Meeting and Supplier Awards Ceremony, held in Auburn Hills,
Michigan on June 5.
The honor comes as recognition of Janesville Acoustics’ proactive development of innovative products
that deliver superior acoustical performance and reduced weight, while achieving significant cost savings.
These products helped Janesville Acoustics exceed the technical savings target set for them by Chrysler
in 2012.
“To be named a finalist for Chrysler Supplier of the Year speaks to the strength of the ongoing partnership
between Janesville Acoustics and Chrysler Group LLC,” said David Cataldi, president of Janesville
Acoustics. “Just as our team has developed pioneering new products, Chrysler has championed their
introduction into new vehicle models. This spirit of cooperation has allowed us to expand our product
offering with Chrysler Group and spurred the development of additional solutions that will launch in the
coming years.”
In fact, the relationship between Janesville Acoustics and Chrysler was recognized by the automotive
industry in 2011. That year, the companies jointly received an Automotive News PACE (Premier
Automotive Suppliers’ Contributions to Excellence) Innovation Partnership Award for outstanding
collaboration in the development of a molded fiber instrument panel (IP) closeout with integrated lighting
and ducts. That product, itself, was honored with a 2011 PACE Award for superior innovation.
