The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre and The College of Intuitive
Studies are proud to announce that internationally renowned Spiritual
Teacher & Psychic Medium Gordon Smith will be presenting his
Foundation Course, here, in Edinburgh, in 2014.
This is another ‘first’ for The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre, as we’re
delighted to announce that The Centre has been chosen as the only
Scottish Venue to host this prestigious training programme. The first
weekend will take place on Saturday and Sunday 1st & 2nd of March
and places are filling fast.
Gordon, on creating this innovative programme says, “whilst I deliver various training courses
throughout the UK and abroad, because I have to travel so much these courses have tended to
be stand-alone, one-offs - and this has frustrated me, for as most students of psychic and
mediumistic studies will know, this subject requires a more consistent, cumulative approach.
So, I’ve created my College of Intuitive Studies which offers a modular-based training
programme, that delivers both consistency of approach and allows the student to clearly assess
their own progress as each module builds on the learning from the previous one.”
Gordon’s Foundation Course is open to all levels of students and is the beginning of his 4
module-training program that he has specifically designed and teaches to students all over the
world. Presented by Gordon and assistant teacher Steven Levett students participating in the
course will gain a much better understanding in the subjects of Mediumship, Spiritual Self-
awareness and Healing. As this course is heavily focused on a number of practical exercises
that will assist the student in their development, students will be required to practice and master
these exercises between modules.

The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre has it’s own Psychical Research & Investigation Unit which is headed up by Archie Lawrie, an
accomplished author of a number of books on the subject, and past Vice President of the Scottish Society for Psychic Research.
Archie, as well as carrying out investigations into the paranormal, conducts his own monthly lecture programme at the Centre.
But, together with Frances Ryan, his trusted Psychic Investigator, they have put together some exciting events for the beginning of
this year.

Kathryn is a Minister of the SNU, serving Churches throughout the UK as a Speaker and Demonstrator. Kathryn also
holds workshops both in the UK and abroad. As well as tutoring healing at the Arthur Findlay College during SNU
Healing Weeks. She has developed various aspects of mediumship including the deeper states of spirit control and
has continued to develop Altered State Healing, sometimes called Trance Healing, as well as Cain Healing.
Building on her successful trance mediumship workshop here, last year, Kathryn will be further exploring trance and
the altered states as she supports and encourages delegates to that deeper connection with the spirit realm. This
workshop aims to introduce and guide students in working in these altered states so that their own connection with
spirit becomes more tangible for themselves and others to witness.
Because of the nature of this work, numbers will be strictly limited. 10am - 5pm Those attending the Cain
Healing will be required to lie on the floor and should bring a cushion/pillow and blanket for their comfort.

The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre is delighted to welcome back America’s
most respected Medium, James Van Praagh, who joins the ever popular and
equally well-respected British Medium, Tony Stockwell for what promises to be
a sensational experience in expanding and deepening your link with the other
world. Building on the success of last year’s Course, Tony and James will be
providing expert advice and guidance on techniques to advance your own
mediumship. This Course will also incorporate elements of Trance
Mediumship and students will get a unique opportunity to witness a
demonstration of Trance Mediumship by Tony during the course.
Both of these Tutors have demonstrated their mediumship at some of the top venues around the world, both are accomplished authors,
have had their own TV shows and made guest appearances on many more. A major Hollywood film was produced portraying the life
story of James Van Praagh, where Ted Danson played the lead role. They both travel extensively throughout the world delivering their
unique brand of training – yet this course allows students the opportunity to learn from two of the world’s masters of mediumship in a

A day working through different exercises understanding through the medium of colour and symbology how
to bring messages through for others and yourself.
Whether you are just starting out with your development, you are working with healing or as a therapist or
counsellor, art forms can help you to understand what is going on with your client at a deeper level.
Jan is a Sussex Healer, Harry Edwards Registered Healer, United Spiritualists healer/Counsellor, Reiki
Master and Life Coach and has been practising for many years. She holds development workshops and
circles on Mediumship, psychic, spirit art/psychic art and healing from her home in West Sussex, Banyan
Retreat and many other venues. 10am to 5pm Lunch included.
Open to all levels of awareness from the total novice to the more advanced Psychic or Medium this one day Seminar is for those with a
willingness to explore and expand their psychic potential. The “Auragraph” more simply known as a Psychic Life
Drawing or an artistic diagram of the human aura is indeed a rather unique and wonderful way of giving a psychic
reading through the medium of colour, shape, form and shade. Very little is known about the pioneer of the
Auragraph (Harold Sharpe) and yet there has been a revival for these rare and beautiful psychic readings.
Each participant will be offered an opportunity to explore their psychic potential through art and design whilst
learning how to construct and read an Auragraph.
Participants will enjoy the following :Introduction to Colour ,Introduction to Symbology ,Construction of an Aura-

All are welcome to come and practise their own mediumship or just to come and receive ‘a message’ from the
other participants.
This gives everyone the opportunity to Demonstrate their own Mediumship in a supportive environment.

A new drop-in group at the Centre every Tuesday, starting from
7th January at 1pm, with Jane Hill.
An oasis of calm in the middle of your working day. Using meditation
and guided visualisation, Jane will help you to experience inner calm
while visiting a landscape of peace. Jane is used to working with
beginners and has a ‘wonderfully soothing’ voice that will help you in
your journey.

Platform Mediumship — 6 Week Course Starts Thursday 23rd January at 7.30pm
This course is ideal for anyone who has developed their mediumship within a development circle and would like
to explore the aspects of platform mediumship.
The course will look at presentation and delivery of your mediumship in a supportive setting.
We will look at elements of platform work which will include prayer, philosophy and mediumship.

Alan Sanderson, Psychiatrist, on Spirit Release
Dr Alan Sanderson is a consultant psychiatrist, hypnotherapist and spirit-release therapist. Returning to clinical
practice in 1990, after years of personality research, he found psychiatry still stuck in the pharmacological morass.
Spirit release, as pioneered by American psychologists Edith Fiore and Bill Baldwin proved very effective and to
someone trained in the bio-medical tradition, was an amazing revelation. He introduced ‘spirit release’, not without
controversy, to the treatment of NHS patients at Fairfield Hospital. Places will fill fast for this Talk, so book early!

Alastair studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and the Royal
Academy of Music in London, before returning northwards to join the BBC Scottish
Symphony Orchestra.
Iain is co-principle bass in the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Eddie is one of
Scotland's leading composers.
The afternoon will include traditional pieces as well as some newish compositions.
