The singer’s history

Jamie Cullum (20 August 1979) is an English jazzsinger and song writer.. He is also a very well-known

pianist. Since 2010 he has been presenting a jazz

show on British radio, BBC Radio 2.

The singer’s history

 After his very successful but not very well-knownrecords he signed a 1 million dollar contract with

Universal. Some time after, he released

“Twentysomething”. This record went platinum and

became the Number 1 selling studio album by aBritish Jazz Artist of all time.

The British Jazz Awards first recognisedCullum's growing success by awarding him the

"Rising Star" award, at the 2003 ceremony in

July. At the 2004 Brit Awards Cullum was

nominated in the "British Breakthrough Act"category. He was also nominated for a Grammy

as “Best Male Artist and “Best live act”

Curiosities

One of the many things that features in Cullum’sconcerts is the Stomp Box. It is used to amplify a

musician’s tapping foot. 

He produced his first album for £480 and he only

made 500 copies. After 10 years they were sold for 

£600 each..
