SNOW QUEEN This performance of The Snow Queen is based upon Hans Christian Andersen's children'stale. We meet two best friends, Ruby and Pearl, on a fun-filled summer day. Jealous oftheir friendship, the evil Snow Queen freezes summer and steals Pearl away. Pearl is heldprisoner by the Queen, her minion, and her guards. All that is left behind is Pearl's redscarf. While Ruby frantically tries to find her friend, the Snow Queen gives her a poisonous pastrywhich causes Ruby to fall into a dream state. In her dreams, she embarks on an adventureto find and bring home her missing friend. Along the way, Ruby depends on the kindness ofsome very strange strangers. She meets pirates, gypsies, a fortune teller, birds, bees, horses, reindeer, jungle creatures, mermaids, seaweed, jellyfish, dolls, northern lightsand debutantes, all who help her on her quest.

REDONDO BALLET
Ballet in a Box
Redondo Ballet, a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, will travel across the United States and
around the world to bring a beautifully decorated box containing all the components required
(costumes, leotards, tights, music, shoes, make-up and accessories – all donated), to perform a
scene from an original Redondo Ballet production.
Ballet in a Box at St Columbkille in South Los Angeles
Ballet in a Box™ is designed to provide an all-inclusive program to dance organizations and
schools that have been lacking resources.
California State law requires that every grade level must have an arts program, yet 80% of
schools fall short of this mandate. Ballet in a Box fills this gap and helps schools meet the
standard.
The directors and dancers will rehearse and mentor the recipients of the Box and when ready
they will perform the scene for the community. The newly empowered dancers retain all the
contents of the box and continue to share the experience with others.

We will build our foundation on works of unparalleled excellence, rooted in the classical tradition
with a conscious commitment to create distinctive, innovative works of art.
We will instill in each dancer, with our Ballet in a Box Program, the importance of outreach and
philanthropic endeavors.
Redondo Ballet: Education. Entertainment. Empowerment.
Our Vision
Dance has the power to facilitate emotion, to tell a story...to change a life.
Redondo Ballet is a passionate advocate for dancers in the training and pursuit of a classical
dance education whereby empowerment exudes from every dancer as they delve into the
philosophies of a classical education that are imparted upon them on a daily basis, giving the
dancers the ability and power to craft a narrative that creates a connection with an audience that
ranges from the earnest realities of life to the heights of frivolity.
We attain our vision of outreach and philanthropic endeavors with the Ballet in a Box program.
